Resident Evil 5

Play the game WITHOUT installing GFWL?
As the title says.

I downloaded the game, opened it, it ran pre-requisite files and when it was about to install GFWL I STOPPED IT! I don't want that crap on my PC and I also know it's been migrated to Steamworks so I see no point in installing that piece of ish software.

The thing is: if I open the game now it shows my CD-Key with the option to Copy To Clipboard(which I select) then click Play. It opens a DOS windows for a brief second, it closes and it does nothing.

I could re-run pre-requisites from Steam but I DO NOT WANT GFWL on my new PC.

Is there an option to play the game and have the saves, DLC's and stuff all backed up to Steam WITHOUT installing that piece of crap, discontinued software?

Thanks man, I saw on Reddit that there was something like this and I saw the sticky-thread but I actually missed it was an actual patch.

What I wonder is: are the listed bugs(both normals and "Misc") a problem of the patch or it's just the PC version having them? I remember I played a "downloaded" copy of the game while waiting for the Steam sale on my old PC to see if it worked(that thing was super old) and it had literally no problems nor asked for GFWL.

Why is the official, original Steam copy so problematic?

Worked great but I just found out there's no Local Co-op on the Steamworks version and I'm not installing that crappy GFWL version. Also Mercenaries and DLC's wouldn't even work anyway.

This version of Resident Evil 5 is so bad it hurts and it's full of lacking stuff and false advertisement. Shame to Capcom for this ♥♥♥♥ and to Steam for selling it.

The "local co-op" tag is user generated, not stated by the publisher. Is Capcom responsible for what the community tags the game?

I didn't know about that but Steam should still remove it. I know CAPCOM is mostly a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ company abandoning games, being shady as ♥♥♥♥ and porting like total ♥♥♥♥ on PC...but porting the game and REMOVING stuff that was already there is dumb as ♥♥♥♥, really.

Hope they fix this As I said I'll just co-op on RE6 with my cousin, we both finished it on PS3 together but as I said I'd rather have everything 100% complete, upgraded and so forth on PC than on a console which I'll have to keep just to plug once/twice a year to play this or that part of the game.

The game's fun anyway in singleplayer but this is so dumb...man I hate Capcom, they ruined my fav serie.

What, specifically, were you advertised that was not delivered? I originally thought you meant that the local co-op was falsely advertised since you mentioned it earlier, so I pointed out that the "local co-op" tag was community generated.

I know I just meant that even if it's user generated it's Steam's fault for allowing people add tags so others buy according to the tags. Its their system, its their fault plus who on their right mind would purchase this thinking they removed stuff from the consoles expecially when the tag is there?

Dear Agonia, maybe this is already old.
I had a problem to run the installed Resi 5 on Steam on Windows 10. The following movie solved my problem. An integration of the save game was possible.
