But it always feels great when it works. Halflings are arguably better at the throw teammate play, due to trees being able to freely use rerolls, not having to roll for hunger, and having the strong arm ability to add a +1 modifier to the throw roll.
Of course, most Ogre coaches will just aim their snotlings directly at the opponent and hope for a messy collision :P.
TTM is one, limited to those teams that have a TTM-capable Big Guy (Ogre, Troll, Tree) as well as at least one Stunty player. That means Halfling, Goblin, Ogre, Orc (that's one reason why orc coaches often take one goblin) and Underworld.
Another is to hit 13 squares of movement with a player. No single player can do that without some lucky skillups, but one is rather close to it: The Skaven Gutterrunner (MA9) needs only a single +MA skillup and the Sprint skill to do it. Needless to say, any Gutterrunner with +MA will be mercilessly targeted for repeated gangfouls by any sensible coach.
Those two approaches are obvious enough, but there's one other option that most people don't know about...chainpushing from the line. It's pretty hard to explain without pictures, but it relies on blitzing a player facing your prospective oneturner from behind to push your ballcarrier a step beyond the line. That gives you a shot at the OTT with a total move of 12 (MA9 + Sprint), but often you can also manage one further shove using the opposing player you just pushed into the bulk of your team...and that means a move of 11 will do. And that is something several teams can achieve without any lucky rolls on skillup. Skaven can in fact do it without any extra skills at all...
I don't have any goblin that can make it to the TD, so, it is my only option!
Against slow Bashy teams (Dwarfs) you can kick the ball far up field and wait for your opponents turn to end
If they don`t have the ball throw your goblin down field and pick the ball up for a one turn TD
These not only works but also forces your opponent into some risky plays to keep the ball safe
Even if they die
