TIP: Where to find the game rules - not the manual
This game is based on a complex set of rules involving rolling dice so to fully understand the mechanics of it you probably need to read exactly what those rules are. If you are a new player, you can find the tournament rule book in the folder with the game. Its different than what you read in the manual if you click on View Manual in Steam. It explains everything, not a few brief explanations of dice rolls. To find it, right-click Blood Bowl: Chaos Edition in the Steam library, then click on Properties, then click the Local Files tab, then click Browse Local Files, and you will see the tournament rule book in PDF format there in the folder. If you don't have a PDF reader, install Adobe Acrobat Reader, FoxIt PDF Reader, or equivalent so you can read it.

Alternatively, it's linked at the top of the official game forums: http://forum.bloodbowl-game.com/index.php

Or, if you want a printable PDF (for instance for people who also play the mini game), the BB living rulebook is open source and currently on its fifth edition (with some addendums like extra races added seperately). Just google Blood Bowl living rulebook 5.0, and you should have no trouble finding it.

Buuut ... I don't want to read modified rules, I need exactly those rules that are used in the game! So I'd rather not investigate the LRB!

Ingame, in the single player tutorial section is a link to a rulebook. Isn't that the official rules? It seems to be written for the RL version, though.

The rules are the same. It's just that the Cyanide version doesn't use some of the optional rules (like special play cards) and removes most of the Star Player choices. This is, for the most part, an accurate translation of the boardgame rules to the PC.

But if the Living Rulebook is *currently* at 5.0, how can it be the same? I thouoght the LRB was called "living" because it gets constantly updated. And the PC version is many years old.

Anyway, could you please have a look at the thread I opened? I am stuck in Competition mode. Thanks in advance.

The 5.0 LRB was released in 2006. The first version of this game was release in '09. You do the maths :P.

Seriously, though...the Competition Rules .pdf (should be in your install folder) is the version of the rulebook that best matches the PC game.

Yeah, I can't see Games Workshop updating the rules any time soon so the 5.0 living rulebook is all if you want to understand the game a bit better.

Competition Rules (2010), which are available in tutorial and found in game folder, are the latest rules. Rules are not called "living" any more, because current rules are seen as final version. Living rulebooks are older versions and are now outdated.

No, LRB6 is valid. It's basically CRP with the fluff put back in.

Remove broken achievements in the game, specifically "Monopolist"
