Singleplayer is fun if you enjoy team building and casual play but won't be all that difficult in either game; that being said I spend the majority of my time in singleplayer. Both games are good but at this point I would go with 2 as it looks better and has a lot (but still not all) of the teams. Still play Chaos edition the most though because BB2 Chugs and makes my laptop cry.
Elitists will tell you there's no point in playing either game singleplayer because the bots aren't as cunning as human players. They're right for the most part, bots don't take the clock/player abilites into account; but one of the big draws for me about Blood Bowl as a PC game is the ability to play the game alone, at my own pace. Competing against other players is thrilling and it's what BB does best, but don't discount the singleplayer options. For players like me, that's where most hours are spent...
Both games offer great single-player options, but the edge goes to BB2 for the increased customization, greater variety of teams and races, and much cleaner presentation
Being forced to play as humans is pretty boring, especially as the opposing team continous to change to some more exciting/exotic races.
Think I'm gonna shelf the game until the next sale so that I can get the expansion for cheap.
Yeah you're playing "Campaign" mode. It's about as fun as a scripted campaign in an RTS. Instead, opt to "Start a League" from the main menu. After you create a team, enter them into the Eternal League.
Now you're playing proper BB2 singleplayer...
That requires the DLC, right? That was how I understood things.
I'll probably pick it up when it's on a sale, 22 euros for a game mode is a bit steep
The dice rolls can be brutal though so you'll require patience just like the tabletop version. Seems weighted against you a lot of the time but it really isn't if you don't make overly risky plays.
BB/BBLE/BBCE single player is odd in that putting the game on hard makes it easier. The CPU tries less wild plays that miraculously pay off.
It's extremely sad the amount of teams they lock behind DLC.
I didn't buy it until enough was included in one package. I refuse to spend money and dish out cash for every little part they ripped from the game to make more $$$. Nice try though! ;)
This. Get this version. You have a worldmap and select championships for your team to compete in as well as managing it of course. Its not much, but its certainly satisfactory if you just wanna experience some BB now and then. If you really want MP then I'd get BB2 or skip the Steamgames and go straight to Fumbbl
