is Lynchpin Fire and Forget ?
Based on its look and description, I thought AGR-18 Lynchpin is supposedly working like APKWS, where the helicopter need to keep designating the target with laser to guide them. so I did my best to constantly expose myself and face the targets when Lynchpins are flying toward the targets.

But It looks like this weapon actually functions like fire and forget. I once accidentally launched them while the target are not in my line of sight, I thought all those rockets were wasted but they somehow destroyed some target and rest were intercepted.

Is this rocket not laser guided ?

It does act like fire and forget. Considering I Lynchpin spam with the Cricket, I'm in a pretty much exposed position when I do so (around NEZ range on the ranging meter, to be specific), so I don't know if there should be line of sight with the platform--but I don't have to be facing the target(s) since I break away after launch to egress.

(They could likely be fire and forget. Line of sight notwithstanding, I do recall instances where I've undesignated targets post-launch to retarget something else with another weapon, and they still track.)

All weapons are fire and forget. If fired with a lock, you can unlock and they will still go for the target. Not counting external factors like jammers.

It's a soft fire and forget, more like an aim assist. They will track, but they have no pathfinding so you need to have
a clear line of sight (basically you should actually be able to see the target in your camera). additionally, you need to try and be lined up as close as possible as any off angle will greatly reduce accuracy and the charge is so small that you need a direct hit.

Thanks for explaining, then completing chopper missions will get much easier.

Yes they are, but the range and agility are poor, so you need to aim better before firing to increase your chances of hitting.

If you want to get rid of SPAAGs they are your best bet, you can do a barrel roll while firing them to fan them out a bit. If you fire em in a line at an AeroSentry or Anvil they usually take out a bunch, maybe even all of a salvo. Only works at a certain range as the steering is pretty meager. At 5-6km out you can get them on target in a nicely spaced pattern that way tho
