However, all good Medusa players know to jam Scythes once they go active, so if they're jamming you directly it's probably to stop you from spotting with your radar and/or to mess with your situational awareness.
If they target you long enough your entire HUD disappears, so you can't select or see anything besides incoming missiles. Not much point having weapons when you can't do anything with them, which is why I called it softkilling.
Plus, and this is rather critical, in the later parts of the game a radome medusa effectively locks newcomers out of the match since it becomes very difficult to get anything done outside the immediate vicinity of the AF in a cricket, compass or chicane when you can't hug the radar floor.
