Nuclear Option

Nuclear Option

My sole request: a few simple cheat options.
I love-love-love this game. I love its flight model, I love its graphics (genuinely feel fun to me!), I love the planes, I love the weapons, I especially love the scenarios and dynamic battle that unfolds in each one. Devs deserve every penny they get.

The only thing I could ask for: cheats. The obvious ones, just to let people play around, because they'd be easier to implement in Unity by far than they have been for me with dnSpy. Unlimited ammo, unlimited fuel, unlimited countermeasures, and that's really it. Invincibility seems like it would be hard, but I was able to program all three of those myself in a DLL editor, for the player only. Unlimited ammo was super clumsy, but still worked.

I had to make the aircraft rearm itself after depleting all its missiles, but because that would interrupt any missiles coming off the rail, I had to add a TIMER that counts down every frame ONLY while the button is being held (because I attached it to the fire function and couldn't count down in the background), and then rearms after holding it a bit. Then I had to introduce a custom function to make it automatically toggle back to the weapon that was selected, and that was a pickle and a half because I had to make it set turrets back to their expected mode, and it still didn't work with salvo fire at all. Also the Medusa randomly exploded in midair when using this rearm trick for some godforsaken reason.

I'd just really like it. Things like that spice up sim-lite games like this a ton. Certainly not gonna pretend it's sage advice or anything, but I felt the need to give my two cents.

People will say that unlimited ammo/invulnerability cheat codes are stupid and not fun. They are right. This is stupid. And I predict it will stop being fun after around 1,000-5,000 hours put into the game. So at least 1,000 hours of stupid fun: you have my vote.

The only trainer I've used is Cheathappens and they don't have unlimited ammo, which is really big.

I know it takes work, but if we could just get access to whatever the dev thinks are fun modifiers in a basic GUI I feel like that would greatly benefit the replayability of the singleplayer mode. Wishes and fishes and whatnot :3

There is no grind in this lmao
It's not even grind, it's just about being able to play games the way you want to play them. I've been working on building MelonLoader mods to do what I want, but Nuclear Option's code isn't so amenable to that.

Sure there is, it's just on a per-match basis... unless the mode disables the grind.

Even sims like IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 have "cheat" settings to enable things like unlimited fuel and other stuff. It's kinda nice. Sometimes you just want a quick and casual experience... other times you want a more detailed, immersive sim experience.
I'd love a unlimited ammo cheat so I can spam cruise missiles, it would look soo cool watching them HOME on like 20 targets in a huge VOLLEY
Piltch has cheats for infinite fuel, infinite cannon ammo and infinite flares.
