How does this plays with a proper joystick (hotas)?
Im actually quite glad the game can be played with a controller. Being somehow a "realistic game" its still arcade enough as to be easy to control wigh a simple controller instead a lot of keys for every little real thing there is on a plane.

My question is, how does it plays with a proper joystick? Is it really recommended or maybe its "so arcade" than a gamepad actually feels just better to play?

And if Joystick (hotas) is better, any recomendation?

-Thx.

I've got the Virpil MongoosT and Constellation Alpha. That's overkill, but it's great. I only wish things like countermeaures and weapons selection in NO were more HOTAS-friendly.

If you aren't willing to spend thousands of shekels on controllers, my recommendation is the Thrustmaster HOTAS-X. Someone called it "80% of a HOTAS at 20% of the price". I think that's valid, it's a good stick with lots of features for its price point. It's easy to find, always in stock somewhere, and it's reasonably reliable.

Actually purchased those!

(Still waiting for it to be delivered, as it was online purchase)

It's a long delivery cycle, they are behind on their orders. Mine took around a month.

Building the thing took a while, but the instructions are clear. Figuring out the software took some time, but once you understand the UI, it's easy. Figuring out what button you want to use for which function, that's taking me forever.

I'm using my VKB setup w/ virpil pedals and a headtracker. Works great and nice and easy to set up in game.

I'm playing this with TrustMaster 16000m stick and throttle. Very good fun.
