Retracting Landing Gear While On The Ground
It's a really stupid thing to retract landing gear while on the ground, and the game punishes you accordingly for doing that. Me, I mixed up the Turn Off The Radar Button I had set on my HOTAS with the gear retractor and got really grounded.

Maybe it might not be so bad if it was made impossible to retract the gear when the airplane is standing still?

Honestly I don't see why or how constraining the things we can do would be a good thing. You made the mistake once, learnt your lesson, and will probably not do it again. It's not a great idea either to friendly fire, yet we can do it, be it accidental or not, and it's great that the game does not impose limits onto players for such things.

Other sims lock you out from retracting your landing gear while parked, that's why I brought this up.

Do you know about Weight-on-Wheels?
Weight-on-Wheels (WoW) indicate whether the weight of an aircraft is resting on its wheels. This information reveals whether the aircraft is airborne or on the ground. Air/ground sensing prevents various systems from operating inappropriately on the ground or in flight.
In reality, when the Weight-on-Wheels sensor detects that the aircraft is on the ground, it will lock the landing gear and prevent it from being retracted.
Currently the game will detect if you retract the landing gear on the ground and punish you, which means there is already the Weight-on-Wheels sensor in the game. So why not make it like reality and stop the mistake from happening?

Probably a rare dumb thumb moment.
