How useable is Keyboard and Mouse

Are Keyboard and Mouse controls viable in this game, or is a joystick really required? Debating picking it up and concerned that my joystick setup isn't currently available, and that my non flight-sim friends don't have HOTAS.

It's pretty good imo. You just need to get used to the mouse for pitch and rolls, or you can ditch the Virtual Joystick on the mouse and fly with just the keyboard only. Everything is rebindable.
Just don't expect War Thunder's KB&M control

Works fine for me. I like the controls more than War Thunder for example but it's somewhat comparable. Thrust/Lift is controlled by a percentage. I recommend if you use a keyboard immediately turning off the setting that has your mouse control where the vehicle looks to.

keyboard and mouse is only virtual joystick controls so if you are not experienced on it you should definitelv avoid this game - there are no other mouse controls
