Before I buy, do i need hardware such as joystick?
i never was flight sim guy, always like tanks in eg. ghpc or il2 tank crew thus i dont have any hardware such as trackIR or joystick, so i would like to ask if its possible to play well on mouse + keyboard, and i mean actually play the game, not something comparable to trying to play DCS on mouse + keyboard
thanks

It does work with keyboard & mouse, but a joystick (or controller) would probably be better experience. The Buur Pit created a 1st impressions video

I play KB+M and set space bar to pull-up and W to nose-down. A & D to roll.

Yes there is, but it you don't want to keep pulling up with a mouse, you use space bar instead.

how do i look round in the kockpit using a controller??
when i go to 3rd person veiw,, i can move round with the stick without an issue.. and kick in the middle to get it "back" into the middle... but once in the cockpit, it wont work...

Look up to the keybindings, there is a button for allowing you to look around with your mouse when inside the cockpit.

Edit: It's called Free Look. Set it to right mouse button. Enjoy! :)

There is a youtube video review or walk through that is using keyboard successfully. It will require sever patience to learn keyboard and mouse. X56 Rino is working. Smoothly for 2 hours.

Works just fine with a controller,I'm using the ps4 one with no issues (aside from the slightly awkward aiming with the rudder)

Mouse and Keyboard controls in this game are much better than in Il2. I still prefer to play with an xbox controller though

this feels cursed... i use my mouse and w as down and s as up.. since S is like pulling your flightstick towards u and W away from u (aka up and down) but that is my preference

I have a joystick but I'm choosing to fly this one on an Xbox controller and it's doing just fine. I don't think arcade sims like this one gain much from having the exact-precise movement of a stick, throttle, and pedal setup. Arguably anything simulating Fly-By-Wire doesn't gain too much from it.
