I've been experiencing this too. I kept thinking I hit the wrong key but I dont see a slow motion in the key bindings

There is a keybind for slow motion:

Scroll down almost all the way, to the "Gameplay" category. Slow motion keybind is just under "Pause".
That is a really stupid feature in a flight sim. Just another feature that screams shooter or action game rather than sim.

I'm sorry? Don't most flight sims have timewarp support, both fast-forward and slowmo?? I certainly remember 1946 and Rise of Flight having it - in that sense NO is limited! Not that you'd need the fast-forward button here with how short and hectic missions are.

you are pressing the , key, this toggles slow motion in singleplayer

other than that i have no clue why or how this would happen

It is an optional feature, you can use it or ignore it, and only works on singleplayer, I do not see the problem here.

On other threads, you claim having more options is good and criticize others for not wanting them added, let's not be biased on "Only the options I want are good to have, remove the other ones", thank you.

More options is generally positive. This feature is just an existing option, which may be used or not. Its key bind can just be removed if you do not like it.

I meant that slow motion is generally used as a cheat in a sense to shoot more accurately, in shooter type games. I have never used it so I assumed thats how it works in NO. If it only works in SP mode then that makes sense.

I thought it was a slow motion cheat...not a fast travel. Those are 2 very different modes. Fast travel is great if your on autopilot and on a huge map. Thats totally different.

The slowdown works more like a pause, it almost fully stops the action. can be handy to check the map without risking crashing, might also be cool to see something explode in slo-mo, or stuff like that. Of course, only works on SP, it is not going to slow down time for everyone on an MP match, that would be weird lol

And I'm saying slow mo "cheats" are perfectly common in flight sims, especially older ones (I'm not sure if IL-2 GB or DCS let you slow time). In 1946 you could go as low as 1/16th gamespeed.
For NO's damage model in particular, I think easy slow mo is nice to have, just to enjoy Mitch's hard work at a more comprehensible pace.

I use slow motion in single player as a substitute for pre-planned targeting / a WSO when there are dozens of units and you want to engage two of them in a two second window. It also makes it easier to take screenshots and it's FUN.
