I did that:
Install PhysX 9.15.0428, put the game executable (bcr.exe) into windows xp sp 3 compatibility mode, but after the game runs 1 time, and I adjust the resolution, no need more compatibility mode.
Crash in application version: 1.1.0.12714
This game requires an up to date version of Ageia PhysX and associated DLLs. Please install latest PhysX runtime.
SYSTEM:
CPU : Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6200U CPU @ 2.30GHz (2 cores)
DirectX : 9.0c
Memory : 3986 MB
Physics : normal
Renderer : DX9 threaded
To fix this, disable SMT/HT and also cores so that you stay with only 4 physical cores enabled
Or use the solution by KA in https://steamcommunity.com/app/21680/discussions/0/1741136244272378004/
I've downloaded the exe in that answer and it worked perfectly on my Ryzen 7 3800x without disabling cores or SMT - but if you're weary of doenloading then disableing is your only option
