capture bosses?

i am trying to capture the first boss, the elf or whatever. I have gotten her down to super low HP and have used literally 20 monster pills but still she break free every time.

Am I wasting my time? is it not possible to capture? Or if I dont capture, and move on, is it possible to come back and capture later?

I think I've managed to capture her once with the starting monster pills, but it's much easier later on. You can find her again once you beat her on the little lake peninsula with the fairies, and you'll get better monster pills later on as well.
