Tile Town
Tips for 1,000 point tile placement achievement?
I think the most points I've ever scored from placing a single tile was around 450. Any strategies or tips on how to score more points when placing a single tile?

its simple, but sub-optimal for normal gameplay. Create a ring of 6 markets and drop a butcher in the middle. 1200 points. I don't think there's a way to get it that you would do organically if you weren't trying to get the achievement.
A ring of breweries with a tavern in the middle would also work.

This didn’t work for me and I tried it a couple of times. Perhaps post update?

If anyone else ends up in the same predicament as I was: I ended up making a circle of Taverns and placing a Brewery in the middle which worked!

Yeah the examples they gave are outdated now. The points structure was changed for some of the tiles in a patch after that comment was posted.

The general idea still works though if you use tiles that score high enough, like you said with the circle of Taverns and placing a Brewery in the middle.

Just to chime in - my strategy was to "lay a trap" for it. I made rings of high-value surroundings - granaries and barns for a farm, markets and barracks for a fort, hospitals and theaters for a house - and then waited with the rarest of those (a fort) held as my backup tile.

When the golden outline pops up, it doubles the score of the tile - and if the tile is already getting a bonus for being surrounded by optimal things, it doubles that too.

So, I just waited for one of these "traps" I had made to have the golden x2 outline in the late game. Only took me two games to do it.

This is the strategy right here. Got me the achievement on the first game I tried it. Awesome stuff.
