Also my PC struggled.
I've done Pyro, Technican and Medic and just done loops around the stage and the highest I've got is 98. It just become near impossible to survive much longer as a basic zombie does 3000 damage per swing and the basic bosses start outrunning you.
It's possible just very very tedious to go 40 minutes only to die at the last second.
Use frost stuff - Arrows and Medic's vials. After running perimeter for quite some time i decided to peek into the center, and was amazed how many bosses gathered there frozen, barely moving.

1 - Huntress, Ghost or Pyro are mandatory. Without decoy you will die.
2 - Early game offensive stats is nice, but mind that you need to get your defences before you hit 30 minite mark. Key stats for lategame: armor, ability cooldown, ability duration, movement speed.
3 - in this patch you don't need to add hero just for having enough stat bonus. New system and items are able to compensate every stat bonus heroes can provide in late game. So this bonuses have impact only on early game and your choice should consider only abilities and weapons hero have.
4 - before late game you need dps and aoe boss clear to reduce pressure. Due to decoy mechanics bosses will clump up together very nicely and aoe weapons will be much more effecient than any single target weapon(note that ghosts T3 weapons are BOTH aoe). Also aoe weapons are better to the lategame, because they will keep regular zombies under control.
