Save backup information

In rare cases, especially when switching between build branches or when the game crashes, the save file might become corrupted. We're sorry, but don't worry!

In case of any issues, your save game progression can be recovered!

The game automatically keeps 10 backups of the save file, which are made each time you start the game. It can be restored manually, by changing the .es3.bkpX (X stands for the backup number) extension to .es3, overwriting the existent save file (YAZSGameSaveFile.es3).

In the event of a lost save, please refrain from restarting the game multiple times, not to override the oldest backup. In such cases, please contact us by an email.

To find the location of YAZSGameSaveFile.es3, you can either use the Windows Search function to search this file on the disk that holds your main Steam application installation (most often it's the C:\ drive), or by following the instructions below:

Save & backup files folder is located in the following directory:

• Steam\userdata\YOUR_STEAM_ID\2163330\remote

Where Steam is the location of your Steam installation. By default, it'll stand for:

• C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\

YOUR_STEAM_ID will differ in each case (it is tied to your Steam account).
You can confirm your ID by using tools such as https://steamidfinder.com/
User Steam ID is the long number listed between a colon and a bracket at steamID3.

Please note, that Yet Another Zombie Survivors uses a Steam Cloud save system. Disabling it in the game's settings on Steam will pause the cloud save download/upload process, but won't remove the files from the cloud. These can only be overwritten. Take care if Steam asks you to overwrite one or the other, to select the one you've just restored or know to be the desired one.

In case of any problems with your save game, feel free to send us a compressed file (7z, zip, rar) containing the above folder to [e-mail].

Wow, talk about taking care of your players! It's funny though, if I ever lost progress from switching, or just anything, I wouldn't mind because the game is so fun i'd be happy to have to do it all over.
