Level Zero: Extraction - Playtest

Level Zero: Extraction - Playtest

Turret killed 2 mercs, first game
First game. One Merc was downed early on, I'm not sure why because he was so far away. He seemed to be semi-afk, semi-soloing.

I went into a dark room. I had brought 2 of the powerful red flares, 2 of the weaker green glowsticks ( I didn't get a chance to use the glow sticks / lights ) and I had brought 2 medkit pens. I didn't want to over commit on bringing equipment to a first game, because I wasn't sure how to replace the gear that I was bringing.

I went into a pitch black room. I heard the sweet pitter-patter of feet behind me, I popped a red flare, turned around and insta-killed 2 aliens.

I wanted to extract right away but I wasn't sure what the extraction value was and doubted that $500 + was enough?

I was carrying enough medical supplies to start a hospital, since that's the place that I had looted.

I reached a part of the map where there was a turret immediately to my right. I thought that I could run past it and open a door to an unknown location. The turret came around the corner and downed me. I bled out for about 47 seconds and died.

When I came back as a drone, my partner had managed to get the door open to this unknown location but the problem was that it was a storage closet. He was crawling around on his hands and knees because the turret had downed him.

I get that the turret is supposed to get people to run, which raises BPM, which allows aliens to track us, but the tutorial didn't mention much of anything about turrets, let alone how to take them down. A turret does so much damage in a short period of time.

First game impressions: I wanted to uninstall the game.

A turret can only hit you if you severely misplay and stay infront of it.
You can disabled turrets via EMPs from the store. Alternatively you can ignore turrets and just hide behind objects that are crouch level.

I mean... If you stand infront of a TURRET, then yes. You will die. But it has a timer before it fires, and a timer after it fires. It's very easy to avoid provided you dont seal your self into a dead end / choke that's in it's path... and it's mostly dangerous because it gives away your location via the noise, and keeps you locked down until the burst is over.

Dude... I opened a door to a new area of the map. There was a turret to my right, I can run down the hallway like a crazy person, setting off my BPM, using up my last red flare, and getting found by the alien team, or I can do a short burst to a door that opens to whatever.

By the time I had the door open ( because doing something as basic as open a door is like trying to pick a lock in real life ) the turret had turned a corner and downed me. My team mate wasn't coming to help, so I bled out.

I went into drone mode, I got to enjoy watching my team mate crawling on his hands and knees in the same storage closet, because he tried to do the exact same thing. And then I got blown up by the turret. I was down to the last couple of flares, with the green one doing nothing and the red one killing the aliens.

Don't be surprised when the merc queue time elongates to 1 hour +

In that scenario you can run and keep your BPM low by not hitting 0 on your stamina bar...., Why would you need to use your red flare unless you are already misplaying... You only need to pop flares when the emergency generator is out or if you misplay in an area and your lights go out and aren't in a new light zone w charge. There's always options.

Sounds like you were directly in line of sight, it aggro-ed before you started opening the door, and it killed you as you waited for the door to open (Which is logical, the door is electronic, it needs a second to open itself)

Your friend saw u die, didn't wait for the turret to move, and repeated what you did... resulting in the same experience / effect. No shock there tbh. The turret blows up the drone because as a drone you are info / a weapon again the alien.. You are also a foreign entity to the turret. (PS just buy EMPs if you hate turrets.... they're pricey, but it is your solution)

"Green ones" aren't flares, they're glowsticks and aren't made for you to kill the alien, mostly for light / a small beacon for aliens to kinda beware... you misplayed by not bringing enough flares for the expedition...

The alien time rn is 10-20m due to how popular it is... Que time goes up with popularity.....

Comprehension clearly isn't your strong point.

Ah.. I tell you the answers to your issues and you result to something that makes you seem like you're inherently ignorant. I even corrected your Q statement since you didn't understand how the Q works.

If you don't want to learn the game/fix your mistakes, I honestly don't know why you'd even post.
