How do YOU take advantage of bent stackers?
I completed the milestones in a normal scenario, but I neglected to ever find a use for the bent stackers. Their ratio is such that you can pair 1 extractor with 1 bent stacker for some potentially interesting miner layouts, but other than that I've found myself using only the straight ones. both can saturate a belt with a 2x6 square linear layout, so in most cases they seem functionally interchangable. Has the forum found any clever uses for the bent stackers?

After some playing around, I think they might do well when paired with cutters or swappers, which also have the same 1:1 ratio as extractors, and since cutters/swappers oblige a 2 tile space, the extra space needed for loading bent stackers isn't a problem.

Not to state the obvious - but you did notice bent stackers are faster than straight stackers...right?

yes. was that not clear from my OP? straight stackers don't have the 1:1 processing speed relationships with extractors and cutters like I'm talking about.

Not exactly what you're asking, but Insane difficulty doesn't have straight stackers. If you're planning on playing at that difficulty later it doesn't hurt to make all of your blueprints with bent stackers so that they're compatible.

the bent stacker is faster. with my upgrades i need 6 straight stackers to kombine 2 full bellts. but with the bend ones i only need 4. so with a bit tinkering i could shrink my stackerblueprint.

haunting. thanks for the heads up

Honestly, I like them. More opportunity for intersections and fitting things into place.

But realistically, a row of 12 straight stackers and 8 bent stackers take up the same amount of room and output the same amount. So it doesn't really matter which you use.

I'm already appreciating how rows of bent stackers leave gaps in the 2nd layer, meaning you can load shapez from the side of a stacker row much easier
