Naming Convention for Blueprints?
Am just getting into Shapez2.
Have tried to use blueprints, but never seem to reuse anything after say one ore two uses...

Mostly because I am just not sure what they do after the fact.
Is there a 'Shape IN - Shape OUT' image that I am not seeing on blueprints?

As for the subject line...
Anyone have a good idea how to name these?

Thanks in advance for suggestions :)

I use for rebuild a basic production module (most repeated) like "Half cut", "One corner piece", "Cross Cut" or "Half paint". Use the icon to show what kind of output of that module will look like helps a lot. If the design have 2 floor then put it in too like "Half cut (2 floor)" or some sort of color icon. Then each module can be optimize the layout later, after you found your next best design then overwrite the blueprint.

There will be a lot of rebuild as you notice. If you save blueprint with the absolute complex one, it will rarely be use because it is too specific.

I name mine something along the lines of 4x, 8x, 12x then their main function. 4x stacker, 4x painter, 12x fluid pump, etc. meaning it'll produce that many lanes of items(and needs inputs to supply it).

I find myself doing a lot of the same basic transformations to shapes and found it easy to set up a foundation to do just that transformation so I can keep it in line with my belts. This one rotates clockwise, this one counter, 180, pins, etc. I even have a blueprint that will turn two solid objects into checkered pattern and one that will turn a solid into just the two opposite corners.

For symbols I'll do the basic factory item as one of them and add special symbols such as electric, crystal, or fluid if it takes those inputs or is related to them.

My style is:
How many (main-)buildings x What does it do Format
e.g. 4x Cutter to Quarters Lossy 8x8x1
The number tells me, if I need more or less at my current upgrade level after placing it,
as I don't always create an exact variant for every upgrad elevel. If I have a 6x and 9x stacker BP and need 8, I use the 9x and delete one.

This might not be sufficient later. May need to define input and output shape.
But as long as it's essentially a cutter, painter, stacker-module, this works for me.
(regardless if for example a cutter module uses shifters or turn tables or whatever inbetweeen. It cuts up my input, so it's a cutter.)

I use those basic modules all the time.
Currently have about 2 variants of each. But not yet saved specific production lanes,
as I constantly need other shapes with different recipe.
And I'm still far from creating a MAM.

As for the icons: I use the leftmost column to signify the input and the rightmost for the output, if it's not obvious.
