EDIT: Is it faster?
On 2K High settings, current progress in Operator mode BP stage
It's Vulkan (75fps) > DX12 = DX11 (65fps)
I think it's just marginally better and I don't think there's an universal answer for that, just test all the modes see which is better, especially in later stages with high poly counts
For me Shapez 2's performance increase with VULKAN is substantial. I have an all AMD system. Ryzen 9 5900X, RX 6800 XT 16 GB, 64 GB RAM, 2560 x 1440.
Even just sitting at the main menu, I get double the performance with VULKAN and lower system usage for CPU, GPU & RAM versus DX11 & DX12. VULKAN is working as intended. Lower resource usage and higher performance is a major plus for any game and API.
Here is a list of the measured FPS sitting at the main menu all with VSYNC on.
Nearly every game I play that supports VULKAN has a significant performance boost.
Your mileage will vary. You will have to run a test to find out which API works better for you.
