Combining shapes

Hi All,

complete newbie to the game, and never played #1 either.

Was looking at this image in a thread on flipping shapes. The last element in each line appears to combine shapes inline. I don't seem to have this operation. Is this something that comes along later? I've had a look through the list of upgrades, but am only seeing platform upgrades at the moment.

At the moment, I'm using stackers to combine shapes, this element looks to be really useful.

It's a swapper. It swaps the east and west sides of a shape. And yes, you get it by unlocking it via research.

Thanks for the quick response. A swapper.... hadn't considered swapping with "nothing" so will give that a try.

Depending on difficulty, there's a few task shapes that can be easily completed by swapping incomplete shapes.

Or, regardless of difficulty, there are many tasks and milestones where swapping is helpful using pure shapes or mixed shapes...
