To get 12 full belts/pipes, I build 3 miner platforms and route the output of each platform to a different level. I even have a blueprint of the 3 miner platforms with the extractors and belts/pipes already routed to the right layer. You can then connect the 3 miner platforms with a space belt/space pipe for quick merging of the 3 layers if you want.
Also, paint extraction is a little different because a space pipe can hold so much paint it takes a lot of extractors to fill it. Three full shape extractors can fill a space belt, while it requires 18 full paint extractors to fill a space pipe. That's 72 units and many paint deposits don't even have that much.

Fluid info in a little confusing.. the wiki says... "Space Pipes can hold up to 72 full Fluid Launchers "
So each platform has 16 extractors, ending in 4 pipes....... so a full space pipe is 74/4=18?... is that correct? Meaning you can combine them into a single pipe.... but when taking fluid out of the pipe, you can only take x fluid launchers... so splitting the space pipe splits the fluids in it.... meaning you can feed many pipe inputs to a foundation of machines from a single pipe running past it... (am I on track so far)
What about "lanes". Once you send fluid to the space pipe, is the lane forgotten? With shapez, if you put a belt into the level-2-far-left, it comes out level-2-far-left. Is each "lane" in the pipe a division of that 72?
Each space pipe has 12 pipelines, like space belts have lanes.
Each pipeline can do 10800 L/m of paint.
A fluid launcher/catcher can handle 1800 L/m. That's 1/6 of 10800.
A full space pipe can feed 72 total ports because 6 ports is an entire pipeline: 6 * 1800 = 10800, and do that 12 times (6 * 12 = 72) and it's using the whole thing.
A paint extractor, with 3 extensions, has 16 pumps producing 450 L/m each, for a total of 7200 L/m = 450 * 16. That is 2/3rd of a single pipeline's 10800.
That means, it takes 18 full extractors to fill all 12 pipelines: 18 x 2/3 = 12.
Edited to add this: I just reread and noticed a part where I think you're calling the paint pumps "extractors". When I write "extractor" I mean the platform we place on the deposit and then add extension platforms to it. So, when I write a "full extractor" I mean 4 platforms, the extractor platform and three extension platforms connected to it. Together they enable all 16 "pumps" in the extractor platform. So, when I write it takes 18 full extractors to fill a space pipe, I mean 18 of the extractor platforms paired with 54 extension platforms. That's 16 pumps for each of the 18 extractor platforms for a total or 288 paint pumps.
Is there an upgrade to the extender thing for pipes?

My pipes extractor says in the tool tip, only 3 extenders MAX can be connected to it... I connect 4 and the 4th one is not connected to anything (not lit up)
so how can you connect so many to get max through put?
You connect them all together by connecting them all to the same space pipe. See the below screenshot (same as in my guide). It takes 72 to fill a space pipe. So, do something like this screenshot, and count each extractor platform and extender platform as one unit. When you have a total of 72 going into the same space pipe, you can fill it. Which, you don't have to do. Only when you want to. Otherwise, just extract as much paint as you want for what you're doing.

Note, each extractor should send paint to all 12 output ports so all of the extractors are contributing to filling all 12 pipelines of the space pipe. It's the common way to do it, and I show it in a screenshot in my guide.
