It says one launcher can support 2 mixers, because together, two mixers have a total of 4 inputs, and that's what a launcher can handle.
Truth is, we don't put all 4 of the same thing into the two mixers, right? So, actually a launcher supports 4 mixers by going into only one input for each of the four mixers. Then, a second launcher, with a different paint, goes into the other four inputs, one for each mixer.
So, two launchers, of different paints, supports 4 mixers, and they output 2 of the mix each, which is 8 total units of mixed paint produced, which can be sent out with two launchers.
So one of each color pipe going into 4 mixers and then I can output 2 separate pipes of the mixed color out of each pair of mixers.
My blueprint was wrong because I assumed the 2 supported launchers meant 1 of each color.
Thanks for the clarification.

I submitted feedback on this to the suggestions/feedback website, but, there's been no response for three weeks, so far.
Mmmh I’ve been trying to keep my designs simple with 1 pipe per launcher that splits off to feed machine to the specified ratio.
I just unlocked crystallization so I’ll keep the pipe thoroughput in mind if it helps making cleaner designs
