Spinners Tips
Can anyone please post the right formation of controls to get maxium RPM whilst playing as a spinner in career mode ? I have got 2000 RPM once or twice by accident, but I mainly get 450 or so, by twirling the LS clockwise(Offspinner) I use either A,X or Y to bowl then the LS and spin clockwise, I then flick the RS in the direction I want to bowl, I get plenty of wickets but want to get max RPM any help much appreciated.

Are you selecting the right type of delivery?

If you're picking the flipper or the doosra/googly, you'll probably only get a few hundred RPM in your early career. If you're picking the off break, (or leg break for a wrist spinner), then you should get considerably more RPM from the same amount of effort.

Check page 21 of the manual for how to select the delivery type as a spinner.

Remember you only need to spin the stick three times for maximum revs. Any more than that is just wasted effort. Like Mr Bismarck said, if you're bowling variations with a career player, then they'll take a while to get any revs on them until you've improved them a bit.

Thank you very much.

I can't believe I wasn't using the left stick all this time to select the type of delivery, I get beautiful turn now.. thanks again for the great advice and I can only blame my poor eyesight and the manual that I printed off being small writing and on a black background....

oh and me being a twit.

I have become a ridiculously successful career leg spin bowler. I do not agree with the three spin is all you need suggestion. I can get really great spin by rotating the stick smoothly and many times more than three, making sure to release the ball for the right length delivery.

What revs are you getting, Strummer? I sort of max out at 2600...but I never rotate more than three times. As a leg spinner I find that flighted balls are the most effective delivery. I get very little success with leg breaks or googlies.
Strummer Sep 20, 2014 @ 5:29pm
Well, you may be right about the three turn thing if you can get 2600 rpm with it, Dr. Dee. I will still use my technique, though, because I have got into a good rhythm. I can be effective with googlies and topspin but find that I have to be judicious and check the batsman's vulnerabilities using RS down. The most satisfying thing is to get a batsman to play at a pitched-up or off-line ball, only to get caught, either from an edge or through mistiming his shot and sky-ing it. I average four wickets per innings in Career; if anything, it's a little too easy, certainly easier than batting against the AI. However, I love the game and bowling leg spin. And it's an interesting challenge to face all the left-handers and to decide whether to go over or around the wicket.

I get more drift ( for Right arm wrist spinner move the left stick to my top left) than leg spin. Any help?
Dr. Dee Sep 25, 2014 @ 11:43am
As a right arm wrist spinner my best results are with flighted deliveries (LS to 3 o'clock). It moves in the air into a righthanded batsmen and then turns to off. I get between 2000 and just north of 2600 with these deliveries and get a lot of wickets. My leg break (LS up and right) is rubbish in comparison. Although maxed out on the skill meter, it is typically 1700 to 2000 revs, it hardly turns and bounces too high to threaten the stumps on most pitches.
I agree with Strummer that trying to work out how to get a batsman out bowling leg spin is a lot of fun. If I see someone sweeping, for instance, I deliberately send full pitched balls down and invariably get them caught at square leg. Also nice to pitch short flighted deliveries to righthanded batsmen trying to play against the spin to the on side...get the ball to turn away to off and they get an edge to 2nd slip...nice.

Great tips, I love being a RH offspinner in this game, out thinking the batsman is really rewarding, like bowling four stock balls then a full length arm ball gives me a fair bit of success , I bowl offspin (of sorts) for my village side in real life and this is the closest to a real cricket sim I have ever played, I was hoping for a great game, but got almost perfection and they are still listening to us and adding even more, I don't think I will ever get bored with this game.

See, I've found that my leg-break is so effective that my other deliveries are suffering for it. I agree that the bounce is occasionally excessive (although I personally believe this is an issue that is prevalent across multiple bowling styles, not just wristies), but I've got it to a point now where I'm regularly up around 2000-2300 revs, and it's almost in-swinger like in the amount of drift it's getting. Particularly since the edges have been tweaked, I've been a wicket-taking machine - it almost feels like cheating!

Yes, that's what I'm getting. Lots of drift in to the righthander and then turning off the pitch with enough turn to hit off stump if pitching on leg. The reason I use the flighted delivery (LS at 3 o'clock) is that it doesn't suffer from bouncing too high. The batsmen also don't seem to be able to score off them at much of a rate even when they manage to get bat to ball. The slight problem with this is that using any of the other deliveries is not so attractive, so you lose some of the joy of mixing things up with deliveries...because they don't turn as much or they bounce too high. Bowling googlies, for instance, is basically the opposite to my flighted delivery. It drifts away from the righthander and turns in...but it bounces too high to pose a threat to pads or wicket and is a lot harder to get the line right.
As I've mentioned elsewhere (and I'd appreciate other people's perspective on this) there is a problem with flighted deliveries in that sometimes the length is incorrectly calibrated that means that everything is over pitched (hitting B gives yorker length, A gives a full toss that pitches just shy of the stumps and hitting Y gives a high full toss that pitches some distance the wrong side of the wicket). Since this is what I bowl 90% of the time, it is a bit of a pain. The only way to reset it seems to be to take myself off for a few overs and come back on...doesn't always work though. Anyone else encountered this?

I have created 2 career games.
And deleted 1st career as I didn't like player attributes.

Now, I have been playing with 2nd career for quite a time but in leaderboard, it shows rank of my DELETED CAREER only which is stuck at 1674 points.

Can anyone guide me in resetting that stuff?
