How to set Field Placements?

I just bought the game, and I am trying Casual matches to get acquianted before I try online/career mode. I am confused with regard to setting field placements while bowling? How can I do that? I didn't find any option for it.
Also is the online mode bugged? I tried searching once for 15 mins and didn't get any match.

Press down on the four-way button to access pre-set fields, or up to move specific fielders to new positions. I don't play online, but I gather it's just not very well-populated.
