vetern level to hard but pro to easy
Hey I keep playing t20 in comp mode and I find that pro is to easy but going up to vetteranI cannot hit a boundary with a shot i could before. On proi can easily get say 150 in 20 overs and bowl or limit the ai opposition for 100-120.

depending on how i play in pro im lucky to get 100-120. I cant get a score that would be decent in real life and it annoys me. Furthermore I time shots and I just get caught and get heaps of edges to slips. can someone give me advice in what im doing wrong?

Ummm...isn't Pro the level *below* Veteran, not the level above?

So the problem is that a high difficulty level is more difficult than a low difficulty level?

the veteran level is to hard but pro is to easy. Im trying to go into veteran but i keep getting edges and everytime you try to hit the ball over the fieldman i get caught. Its more the t20 games i play because i cant because the other stuff is so long. Im more asking for tips how to get better at veteran or whati might be doing wrong. I was playing veteran before all the updates but the gameplay has changed and now im struggling to get back at that level.

Try playing in the nets to understand how timing works for Veteran. It is trickier than Pro but not by much. I've just move up to Veteran from Pro and have scored more successfully (though still get out for low scores on occassion and the ball doesn't always race to the boundary to start with). Driving off the front foot early in your innings will produce slip catches and caught behind chances. Try playing off the back foot and less aggressively to get in first. Trickier in T20 to get in but there are still shots that are less risky early in your innings. Front foot drives and lofted shots over Mid On and Mid Off are probably highly risky early on.

Personally I didn't find the difficulty jump too great between Pro and Veteran (for batting at least, for bowling it's another matter). Dr. Dee's advice looks good to me. I would add to it--adjust your position on the batting crease as the bowler runs up to make shots into unoccupied areas of the field easier (eg, if they've packed the offside, move across the stumps to make it easier to play to leg). I also play off the back foot almost exclusively against the quick bowlers, unless he's just unleashed two bouncers at me and is obviously about to attempt a yorker. Another thing I do is to always hold down RT as the ball is released (for a defensive shot). I find that having to release it (or add LT) as the ball comes down helps my timing and my decision-making, especially since if I find I can't make a good decision in time I'm already set to play a defensive shot rather than an ill-judged attacking one. I find this works even in T20 and will regularly get innings of SR200+ there despite the initially defensive posture.

thanks dr dee and lunavision. I do like playing the mid on and mid off shots. So what should i replace those shots with?

Also lunavision i find the bowling easier than batting. I can sometimes get the computer out for like 80, even with the test playing nations?

I think bowling is a lot easier in T20s regardless of level because the AI plays more shots. In Tests on Pro I average about 20 with the ball, on Veteran it's more like 40 because the AI is cautious and rarely makes mistakes.

Regarding shots in the V, I don't think you have to put them away altogether. I do find them easier to play off the back foot, though, partly because it gives me that little bit more time to play the ball later. I also find it's important to be very selective of the line--try to play anything too wide outside off stump through mid-off and you're very likely to get a nick. Best to play those through the covers. That's my usual mistake--chasing the gap in the field even when the ball isn't there for it.

Agree with everything that Lunarvision says. I would also add that it can sometimes be easier to play square of the wicket with cuts and pulls early in the innings when the balls are in the right line. Do this enough an the AI sometimes removes Mid On which gives easy scoring opportunities in this area.
if playing on veteran, against the spinner you have to block or you are going to get out
