Question about in-swing
I can never get an inswing delivery to go in line with the stumps. It always either ends up down the legside or hits the batsman's pad when it's already outside the line of legstump. So I don't get bowled or lbws.

What am I doing wrong? I thought holding the stick diagonally to the right during delivery gives inswing, but does it matter how long I hold it down?

What line are you bowling? The direction you push the right stick when you release the ball sets the line of the delivery *on release*. Meaning that, for inswing, the ball will be further to the leg side than that when it reaches the batsman. If you aren't already, start the deliveries off further to the off side to compensate for the movement through the air. The time you hold down the left stick doesn't seem to matter, the amount of swing is only dependent on conditions and your player's In Swing skill.

Hmm, still a bit confused. What exactly do you mean by "direction you push the right stick when you release the ball"? If I'm not wrong, the two motions of the right stick are down and up for the jump and the release. Do you mean to say that the timing of the stick on the green bar at release affects line? If I do want to release it outside off, then which side in the green zone do I need to time it?

I've never got an inswinger to come in from outside off and swing in to hit the batsman in front of the stumps. Makes the delivery kind of useless.

ok on right stick press down to jump yes...but then u set the angle of release, jst pressing up will of course release str8 ish. So why not try ......up left slightly or up right slight or full left or full right ...maybe practice release until u find your right line.. hope this helps :steamhappy:

The upward motion of the right stick on release controls the line of the ball (not the timing of the upward motion, that controls where you release the ball relative to the crease, and hence whether it's a no ball). So:

If you push the right stick straight up (12 o'clock) the ball's initial line will be straight. If you push it up and slightly to the left (between 11 and 12 o'clock), the ball will start out outside off stump (for a right handed bat). If you push it up and slightly to the right (between 12 and 1 o'clock) it'll start out more towards the leg side. Essentially you're aiming the delivery with that upward push on the right stick.

That's the initial line of the ball, what it does afterwards depends on the delivery you've selected. So, for inswing to a right-handed bat, you want to select the inswing delivery using the left stick, and push the right stick to about 11 o'clock on release. That'll aim the delivery slightly wider outside off stump so it can swing in towards the stumps, rather than starting out straight and swinging down the leg side.

Thanks that sounds pretty clear. Shame allof this isn't explained anywhere in the tutorial or did i just miss it.

It is in the tutorial, but they draw hardly any attention to it at all. I missed it at first too when I first got the game. Brilliant game, sucky tutorial. They try to explain about a dozen complex bowling controls with a single screen. Ashes Cricket isn't remotely as good a game as DBC, but the tutorial is hugely better.

basicly to bowl swing on middle stump you need release the ball mirrored exactly opposite to the amount of swing you chose before you arrived at the crease with the right stick when releasing the ball. Having slightly more or less will alter the line to either leg side or off side
