Try experimenting with different batting cameras (inlcuding pro camera) to find one that works best for you.
Batting on a mechanical level is the same as in older cricket games but the new bowling mechanic does drastically change how you bat. Like real cricket you have to use your reflexes. I recommend switching to the close batsmen camera, makes reading the ball much easier IMHO.
Now, I have to actually watch the ball, see where it's going and use my reactions.
When bowling, it takes a little getting used to, but it's definitely a lot better, and allows you to make fine adjustments to your bowling, as well as incorporating natural variation - plus the chance that you might occasionally get one wrong and wang it down the leg side for 4 wides (or is that just my bowling?)!
