I cant see anuthing like that (I play on PC) :( can be specific as what you mean by "Pressing the Right Stick" ?
That window details the bowlers/batsmans strengths and weaknesses.
But 'pushing down the right stick' during the runup gets to the bowling jump. right ?
Do you mean before the run up ? - Thats when I chose where to land the ball (Full/Good length or Short pitch)
This is done prior to selecting your delivery, when bowling, and prior to the bowler starting his runnup if you're batting.
1. Keep camera at batsman close.
2. Turn off the aerial Ball marker (except for spinners)
3. Do not watch the ball for quick bowlers. Instead keep watching the stumps on the opposite end and the pitch. When the ball is delivered you have to pick up if its coming outside off or across to leg. You will pick the line more correctly this way and you will pre-meditate less and play balls on their merit with ease and confidence. Of course this will take some work on the nets. With time you will be picking the line like an expert. You have to still watch the ball for medium pacers. watch for the slower deliveries.
Also this method will prepare you for veteran and legend levels.
With the spinners turn on the aerial markers so you know which side the ball will turn. If you want to up the difficulty then turn it off to face a challenge.
Hope this helps. Have fun and happy batting.
Trust me these tips will improve your batting immesurably as it did mine.
First and most important point. Have patience. You cannot hit every ball and score off it. So relax, take it easy and enjoy the game.
1. take a step inside the crease for fast and fast medium bowlers. and take a step out of the crease for medium pacers and spinners. You can do this by pushing the LAS front or back during the run up.
2. When you face quick bowlers, watch the corridor on the pitch between the bowler and the stumps on the opposite end. This is very very important. Turn off the aerial marker and do not watch for the ball. Just watch for the line. It doesn't matter if the bowler comes over or around the wicket. Just keep your eyes on that corridor. This method will make you invincible against fast bowling.
3. Do not run till you are sure the ball has cleared the inner field. Be patient. You dont have to win all the matches or take many runs. For starters, just make it your goal to stay not out in every match you play as a career batsman.
Hope this helps. Happy batting,
Anything below that is not for real cricket sim seekers.
Practice on the default nets. As Sir Don. Set the bowler to legend and set the batsman to poor. And set the difficulty to legend... Then bat using the points i wrote earlier.
Also 1 last thing... if you are feeling really confident, try sledging the bowler... It can be done. Your Batsman can sledge at the bowler.
Press X Y or B on the controller before he runs in. Your batsman will point to the corresponding direction mocking the bowler. But be warned.. this produces at least two brutal deliveries. Give it a go at the nets.
Cheerio. Happy batting.
