so i have played this game a fair bit, so will try to answer whatever questions i can.
Batting :
2) that is something you cannot change. It's like a cutscene in a fps game... The game will either show the batsman or the helmet view. Not something u can control or change.
Bowling:
The game will only give u decent chances in bowling if u r a out n out bowler or a bowling all rounder. But with that u can probably bat at 5 or 6 at best.... and lower. So if u start career as a batsmen who can bowl or a batting allrounder,.. u can Open the batting and then with the ball try to perform as well as u can in whatever limited chances you get.
( Even good performances won't make the captain hand u the ball more often.. it's how the game is sadly)
If u become the captain of the team u can deploy yourself more often. So all u can do is keep performing and become the captain of the team.
1) U have to select the type of delivery before u select the length. Open up this image link to see it..
http://www.mweb.co.za/DesktopModules/DigArticle/MediaHandler.ashx?portalid=20&moduleid=5259&mediaid=35129&width=1280&height=720
if it doesn't open, look in the tutorial in game.
also BTW the game wont show u what type of delivery u selected. u just have to move the stick in a particular direction(as shown in image) and then do the rest of the length selection and other stuff.
2)image link in 1 should i guess help u with that.
3) set fielding to manual (/ semi- auto) ( forgot what it's called), then u can use Y and A to instruct the fielder where to throw the ball.
Thank you so much for taking time to reply to my queries. Appreciate it :)
In continuation to your input on Bowling query #1, I believe that "Pace Bowling, DELIVERY TYPE" takes care of the SWING (by selecting the desired LS 'Left Stick') and "Bowling Assistance, JUMP & RELEASE Input" determines the LENGHT of the delivery (by manipulating this RS 'Right Stick').
The question was on the "LINE" of the delivery as in if I have selected a "full pitch" ball (Yellow Y key on the XBox controller) and make it a leg cutter by selecting down left on LS and then controlling the LENGHT by manipulating the RS, then, how can i make sure that the delivery falls wide of off stump, AKA "Altering the line"? Can we manipulate the line of the delivery? I do see a slider (which is set in the middle) screen right before the delivery. Is it for altering the line of the delivery? If so, how do we use it?
I just became the captain of my county (in my 3rd year), so hopefully I could bowl more. BTW, do we change the bowler from the menu screen or is there a button for it like the change field button? Furthermore, can I also change the batting lineup (like demoting myself or changing the batting order) the same ways?
Thanks once again. Hope you have a good one.
the only line selection u can do is.. drag the left stick towards off or leg just b4 the ball release...
u cant exactly specify the line. Probably made that way so that u cant bowl at the same spot everytime..something impossible in real life as well
Yes u can change bowler. It can be done from the left stick just like u change the field. cant recall right now, which way u move the stick, just try all sides.
for batting lineup,.. if u r asking in career mode... I havent been the captain ever.. so cant say if u can change... If u arent captain, u definitely cant change in career.
Happy to help!
try psuhing it to 1130 o'clock or 1230o'clock.
1. Chage batting order except openers.
2. Chage field setup for all batsman bowler. u can even set different fields for different batsman.
3. u can appeal and take part in a review system. if u haven't simulated.
4. Toss
5. change bowler and who should bowl next. i.e. setup ur bowling plan.
6. take new ball whenever available
what u cannot do
1. replace batsman/bowler with other player i.e. 12th player
2.choose who plays in the final 11
3.replace injured player with 12th man.
4. powerplay cannot be chosen by u. it activates automatically. You have no control over it.
Hello, Thank you for your reply. I have the following follow-up queries regarding the same.
1. In my experience since becoming the captain, I can change the batting line up only when I am batting, cuz obviously once I get out I just simulate the game. Now I understand that I could stop the simulation as soon as I want by pressing the Esc key, to cancel the simulation, and change the batting lineup from where the current scenario is, but I would like to be in control of the batting lineup further. It's really a pain in the back side to painstakingly shuffle and rearrange the batting lineup in the sequential way they made the lineup change procedure. Is there a simpler way of editing and choosing the lineup like other cricket games of the past viz Cricket 97, Cricket 07 et el? There are a couple of changes I would like to make permanently like promoting and demoting a particular batsman (non-opening batsmen).
2. When I painstakingly change field for both the current opposition batsmen, and select the "Change for All Batsmen / Bowlers" (The Blue 'X' key) and simulate the game, let’s say for the next 10 overs then when I check the field, it’s always different from what I had set. Is there a way we could set field for a particular batsman on a particular bowler and it stays put, even when we come back from the simulation? I have had myself assign a particular batsman a particular field and after a simulation when I reassign myself TO THE SAME BATSMAN, the field is different. If I am the Captain the who the **** changed my god*** field!!! Sigh...
3. When I have assigned myself to bowl, and after the over when I click on the "Simulate to career player"(The Yellow 'Y' Key), the game skips me sometime and just goes ahead with simulating the innings / match, until I manually cancel the simulation by pressing the Esc key. The only sure shot way of continuing the simulation to myself is to press the Menu (Start) button and manually selecting "Simulate to career player" from the menu.
Also further to your comments, why they bothered with the '12th man' and the 'Powerplay' when we can't really do much with it.
Thanks, Have a good one.
2. The Field setting only appiles till a wicket falls in the simulation or chage of bowler in simulation. The AI takes decision on behalf of you as a captain and sets field as per bowler. It is true that whenever u simulate to career player, field will change automatically. Also, whenever u bowl and after finishing over if u haven't bowled well then you will replace yourself with other bowler in the simulation!!!!!!. So try to bowl maiden or take wickets.
The 12th man concept may be probably used in the game when player's fatigue gets too high while bowling faster deliveries at each and every bowl. Although, i haven't tried this but it can happen. Try it and let me know.!!!!
If u have any other questions, feel free to ask here.
