Freeze on splash screen

I bought this game on the recent Steam sale, but when I try to run it it loads up normally until you get to the splash screen (with the logo, and the "press any key" text). At that point, no matter what I do it will not proceed further. I can close it by hitting Alt+F4, and the Steam overlay still comes up as normal. The game hasn't properly frozen (the "press any key" text is still flashing).

I've deleted and redownloaded the game and restarted the computer, both to no avail. Any suggestions?

It happens to me sometimes. Alt-Tab out of the game and back in. It seems to fix the issue.

What Daemonium said. I have the issue as well, so I just alt-tab and go back in, and it works fine.

I have a same trouble. Alt-Tab out of the get back again.

Well, that worked (thanks everyone), though now I'm not getting any in game sound at all...
