Replaying campaign, lost everything
I have started replaying Dead island as my friend and I realised we missed a large chunk of the city. When you go to play again, it says that you will keep everything. HOWEVER it puts you back on the prologue boat, once youve finished that you lose all of your weapons, other than throwable ones and miscellaneous items!!!!!!!
This didnt happen to my friend who started again with me, he kept everything... :(
SO I have no gone from a 4k+ damage katana, 15k+ sniper rifle, and lots of other awesome weapons, to a weak kitchen knife....

I started on the beach with everything. But I had no quests and no way to get started on them.

So I went to Henry and stored my weapons, then quit and reloaded the game. This started me on the boat, and I could just go and collect my stuff again.

In any case, the game did nothing to the items that don't count toward your inventory size, such as crafting mats.

Point is, someone didn't test their game properly, but if you start on the beach like me, you haven't lost everything yet.

Happened to me and tons of others...join the club. Doesn't really matter, you'll find much better weapons on 2nd playthrough..and level 70 weps when you're 70 etc...I know it's really annoying, but take heart in the fact all the weapons you lost, none of them would you be using half way through playthrough 2

I just miss my katana :(
we've played aound 3.5 hours and we're in the last area now, we should slow up a bit now and get some proper levelling done

I lost an awesome Katana too for Xian..sucks hard.

You can get around it by putting stuff you don't want to lose in storage, that way it should still be there when you start NG+.

Yep, definitely a good idea to stash everything before completing the game.

I realise it will probably contain spoilers, but is there a point at the end of the game when you should be storing items you want to keep? I'm at 85% main story, and of course want to keep my good weapons (already L70 ) for my second playthrough. Should I deliberately swap out to 2nd rate gear for the ending?

Happenend to me aswell. I finished the game and went for the 2. playtrough. Once I restarted the game all my stuff was gone.

Before the game ends, it does tell you that you will not be able to come back. It does give you a it message that covers your screen, so you can't miss it. at that point is when you should say no and stash the stuff

Thanks - just completed it this evening - dumped all my stuff first and was able to get it all back in Paradise a few mins later on a new playthrough.

And just for peace of mind for anyone else reading this - when you are prompted that it is the point of no return - there is no more fighting, so you really don't need any of your kit. It's not like the original game where you left for the prison and still had a whole Act of the game to complete.

The conclusion is - don't load prologue for your 2nd playthrough, it is confirmed will lost all your stuffs. I'm the victim! xD (but i got more rare weapons now, not bad)
