Auto Weapon switch is annoying!

Ok, so I have a pletora of great weapons at my disposal in all equipment slots. When I pick up some vendor trash weapon, it replaces the good weapon I'm currently using, forcing me to manually switch back to my good weapon from the inventory screen. Is there ANY way to prevent auto weapon-swap? It's driving me up the wall!

Tap F will loot the weapon. Holding F will auto equip it.

The game also have a terrible habit of randomly changing your *active* weapon after any kind of menu usage. Like, have a knife in hands and a plank in other slot, look at the map, press 'esc', find out that you're holding the plank now.

Yeah I do hate that too but I think he meant when looting it switches so that is because he's probably holding F for slightly to long.

I agree, to both of these. Especially when it throws your equipped item on the ground when you're trying to pick something up when you're full. Wether you hold the button or not.

I figured out an easy way to loot: Before picking up an item, swap to your fists. When you pick it up, it goes straight to your inventory.
