Issue reporting thread

Hi all,

I've gone through every single thread here since the game unlocked, and reported all issues to QA. They did a LOT of testing on a wide variety of hardware but obviously people are having some issues.

The main priority at the moment is to get co-op up and running as intended, as well as looking into this audio issue on 7.1 USB headsets.

If you have any issues, please leave a comment in this thread so our team can better pinpoint the issue, and fix it as soon as possible! The more detailed you can be about the problem you are having, the faster we can find out what causes it. Info like PC specs and your OS are especially helpful.

In the meantime, I'm very sorry you are having problems and I'll do what I can to get them resolved.


If you are having specific technical issues (e.g., crash, load times, no loading) also please send an email with as much detail as you can provide to [e-mail]. If you can add a dxdiag report, that will also help a lot to pinpoint what is cause which issue for what kind of hardware.



Update 1 as of April 24 9:28AM CET: All issue reports were collected and sent over for fixing on April 23 noon CET. The dev has been looking for a solution. Co-op is the highest priority to fix right now. Our team is also continously monitoring this space for issue reports.

Update 2 as of April 24 12:26 CET: Developer is working on a fix for co-op and audio and this will also be tested as soon as possible.

Update 3 as of April 25 13:35 CET: Dev is still working on the co-op issue; we've been allocating all available resources toward fixing this. Audio fix is being tested to make sure it works. Various other issues are also being worked on.

I've personally been testing online co-op with a few community members and people around the world up to last night, using the same version everyone else has, and was able to get games working via the Steam friends list invite/join system. Very weird, because it shouldn't be different for me than it is for anyone else, but it still doesn't work for way too many people to be anything network-related. I'll keep on reporting details and specifics to our teams to help speed up the fixing process as much as possible, and appreciate the details you've all shared already so far!]

Update 4 as of April 25 21:36 CET: Valve has identified the bug that prevented people from playing co-op. Huzzah! A fix should be in place soon, or is in place already.

Update 5 as of April 27 0:34 CET: Patch for 7.1 audio issue released on Steam. Tested with most common headsets we saw mentioned as having issues on the Discussion boards. Would recommend testing it with low volume first just in case.

Next & previous weapon actions can now be bound. Some other UI/localization issues and random crashes were fixed.

A note about pre-order DLC:
The Survivor Pack DLC automatically comes with any Steam pre-purchase and separately via purchases from GMG and the like. Once activated, it will give you the BBQ Blade & blueprint, a bunch of medkits, the XP booster (continuous), and adds a discount to the special weapon NPC vendor.

This does not activate until you land on Palanai. The items should appear in your inventory the moment you do.

I saw some people having issues with it and restarting Steam fixed that, so try that in the meantime while we go over it. If you can't find the NPC vendor, you can find her in Halai in a house.

got another bug for ya to take a look at, seems there is an issue with playing a new game plus, i beat the game, loaded the save, seemed to work fine, left the game to do something else, came back and it put me back on the boat during the prologue, i complete that to find all my weapons gone, but still had all money and mods and such, seems to effect other differently also

Day three of release, no coop. You lost out on so much money by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this up. So many people did not buy the game or will not now buy the game because of the coop problem.

At least they are fixing it, developers need sleep too and there are so many variables on the pc, more so than on the consoles, sometimes though it would be better than to delay a release rather than release it broken.

Im having the following Problems with the game.
1. The game start with no reponsive keyboard.
2. Crashing during the begining of the cut scene
3. When in the weapon chang screen i press escape it closes the game.
4. While driving fast it crashes.
5. During large fights it will crash.

i just bought the game and tried to install it from the cd. when i got to the steam window where i should write the product cd-key it showed a diffrent game was registret. a game called dark souls 2 : prepare to die edition. WTF?????

They had to have known that coop wasnot working or they did not test it eaiter way after the 1st launch this should not have happend.

We get the same damn game with the same damn problems that were present in the 1st game.

your telling me that they didnt know about this.

More like they was running low on cash and had to pump it out 3 days early to fund the patch tell me im wrong.

they say they have people in here reading every post why did they not read every post from the 1st game and make sure they didnot have the same problems !!!!!!!!!

I am angry and upset that i have been sold a product that is not fit for sale and i have every right to be, as this is a dissgusting way to treat your customers and they should be ashamed of them selfs.

That said this is a great game and once fixed it will be even better i already belive it to be better than the 1st (some of the quests are a bit silly but eh its a game).

we want quality and do not care for release dates if you cant sell me a polished product keep it untill it is polished.

a bad review cos of a broken game is still a bad review it makes the Dev's look bad it makes the producers look bad it just bloody looks bad.

I would like to see the numbers of people playing this on tungle go down once the patch come out and it is fixed but i have a bad feeling that a lot of people didnt bother to buy this one, this makes me sad cos it is an epic game at the end of the day all complaints aside.

I get the non responsive keyboard aswell on startup it seems that the game thinks my G27 wheel is the controler i should be using and i have to press the start button on it like as if it were a gamepad or xbox pad.

I have herd of others with this problem that have no controlers pluged in and they alt tab from the game to the desktop and back then the game seems to recognise the keyboard.

I belive also there is another nvidia driver released recently v320.00beta released April 23rd have you tried it yet ?

i just bought dead island riptide for pc and tried to install it from the cd. when i got to the steam window where i should write the product cd-key it showed a diffrent game was registret. a game called dark souls: prepare to die edition. how can this be?

eek sounds like you need to contact Valve customer support did the install dvd say Dead Island Riptide on it ?

yes i have the cd cover right beside me and the cd say it is dead island and when i put the cd into the computer it says dead island. the cd-key is posted on the back of a manuel that was with the game and as soon i entered that code it activated the other game
