Unlimited ammo?!

Hey I was playing when suddenly a player joined. He was level 70 and wanted to give me some legendary guns, but after the trade, I got a sniper but with unlimited ammo. Can this be a bug? I don't think the other player was a cheater, in fact he was as surprised as I was. Can I get a Vac ban for that??

its a modded weapon i am level 70 and have a lot of gold items and unlimited bolt action sniper, shotgun crowd pleaser and mini gun some you can find in one of the 14 dead zones or level 3 cases or even dropped when you defeat a boss

Weapons with unlimited ammo and ridiclous overpowered are hack weapons. People use an safe editor to edit the digits in the weapons in order to obtain them. These kind of weapons are not part of the game. You will not get ban for using them, but it will completely ruin your gameplay experience if you plan to play this game legit.

I agree mate, in fact I have never used cheats. And I'm not planning to use unlimited ammo, I've already got rid of them, but I was scare about the vac ban, Steam might have seen this error or whatever you can call this and could "send" me a ban.

But like a said, the gun has been bugged somehow, probably during the trade. I still think this guy wasn't a hacker.

Yes this is the gun that I have, but, I see 1230483943/12 ammo up to the right. And I got it from this trade with that guy, no clue if he used hacks to get it. But he was surprised when I told him I got unlimited ammo. Pretty strange

That's a hacked one because a legit one would never have that much digits since you can't even carry that much ammo.

Its hacked if your really that worried just drop it or sell it to one of the shops most that have unlimited ammo are hacked , there are a few legendary weapons to be found gold in metal boxes level 3 and they are random , a bit hit or miss if you find one

personally i do not think you will get ban because i use unlimited ammo too..and i saw i think a video on yourtube and that person who made the video said you won 't get banned for modding your game because the game developer says so,therefore i think it is safe

I still have a modded shotgun in the original game, If they ban people for it, then I still haven't received my ban. :P

You don't use hacks to get it, there's a program for PC that you can change the stats of any weapon. It's a modded item not a "hacked" item.

Unless you yourself actually hack or cheat (which you haven't done) then you shouldn't worry about a VAC ban.

I still remember the first time I stumbled upon a modded server in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (a long time ago) and was worried if I'd get banned or not for having my rank instantly booted to the top... but no: that's not how VAC works or most anti-cheat systems for that matter.
