FIX for stuttering and maybe low fps
I was having bad stuttering all the time and I tried everything:

- Vsync on/off
- Triple Buffering
- Lan option on/off
- Capping the fps to 60 w/ Dxtory

AND the only thing that helped getting rid of the stuttering was:

- Open the game
- Press CTRL + ALT + DEL to open Task manager
- Right click on DeadIsland Riptide (32 bit)
- Go to details
- Set Priority to High or Realtime (Your pc might not be able to run the game on Realtime so just go with high)

It might even get you better FPS.

P.S.
If you want to skip the logo intro when you enter the game:

- Click on Library
- Games
- Right click on Dead Island Riptide
- Properties
- Set launch options
- Type in: -nologos

Hope that helped you!

It's not the computer. Lots of people had this problem, you can check on google.
But here is my computer:

Q8400
HD 6870
4GB

Playing the game on highest settings 1920x1080 and with +60 fps. I only get around 50 - 55 fps when there's a huge horde of walkers.

You can use Process Hacker 2. It's easy to use. :)

Tried that... it didn't fix the stuttering.

Hey guys. I found the fix, for me anyway, and it doesn't require an extra program or config. Whilst the game was running, I opened task manager, and DI:R's deatils. I tried setting the priority to normal, as it was always at low which was cutting my fps by over half. When I set it to normal, it would just go back to low. I set the core affinity to 1, and left it. Now it stays on normal priority, and I get 100fps on highest settings.

I played with 30 fps in a laptop, cuz of course it's weak, when i bought a monster pc with a gtx 1070, in the game and menu i get 10 fps, wtf?!
I have a 2080ti oc and a Ryzen 9 3900x plus 32GB of ram and I still get stuttering even while getting 130 fps
Setting to Realtime priority seems to sorta help but I don't like having to use Realtime priority.

edit: it seems that setting it to lan only fixes it but that's not going to work for me as I play with friends..

As an alternative, try switching to Linux Desktop. My machine, GTX-660, Ubuntu Linux using Proton, solid, no lag or stuttering.
