How do you use the mic?

I'm just getting back to this game after maybe a year or two and idk how to use the in-game mic. I searched up on google and people were saying the PC version doesn't work for the mic. Hopefully it's just a key that I'm not pressing that I don't know of.

I believe in options, you'd go to online, and then there's an option to enable voice chat. It works just like Dead Island. You don't need to press a key.
