Unfortunately I had a really hard time enjoying this game. I just finished Persona 5 Royal (which I loved so much I consider it an all-time great). However I don't think P3R lives up to those same standards. Generally speaking, I find the narrative to be a bit lacking and not interesting enough to convince me to push through like P5R did. The Tartarus randomly generated dungeon (which reportedly improved over older P3 versions) still isn't as mechanically interesting as P5R's custom palaces. I know some will criticize me saying that the story in P3R improves later, but it has done nothing to show me that yet.

Maybe I'll give this one another try later, but the game is just too much of a slog to enjoy at the moment.

EDIT: There is also some controversy about Atlus not including DLC that was in the original game in P3R and instead adding it on as paid DLC through an expansion pass. That's seriously not cool either.

Yeah, It's a remake but the game is actually garbage man... sad i sank anytime into this the music is good when lotus juice isn't rapping.

The pacing of the story is horrible, I am a big fan of Persona 5 and was nothing but thrilled for this game and 60 hours in, I can't even bring myself to finish the damn thing because I care so little about anything that is happening in that game because the horrible pacing disconnected me from having any attachment to anything in that game.

Character are introduced in a meaningless way, they feel like just another co-worker at your job and when something meaningful happens to them, they have been sitting in a corner for 6 in-game months, doing practically nothing and having no real role in the story, so I could not care less about them.

The gameplay is repetitive. Im not really THAT bothered by the gameplay, its a remake of a old game so its normal that not every aspects of the game feel fresh, but in a game like Persona 3, where the story and character are supposed to be the main focus, what do you do when the main focus sucks, you rely on the gameplay, but 250-ish floors of the same repetitive randomise maps with nothing to do but grind enemy and open chests items that I wont even use with HORRIBLE REPETITIVE MUSIC, wtf am I supposed to enjoy in this game?

If you have never played a Persona game before and you have nothing to compare it to, maybe you will find this fun, but if you are looking for a good story with nice characters, go play Persona 5 R.
