Unused teammates don't level, right?

how bad is it to have a weaker teammate? I finally got the the point where i can choose a team and i left junpei behind. i hope theres not a part where i get absolutely rocked because he's way too low level.

There's a feature exclusive to the remake that let you level up low level character to the same level as the protagonist.

You gotta use twilight fragments. It's after a certain level. I think the second area of tartarus is when it can be summoned, the thing that levels charachters up to your level. Also btw you can totally have people be underleveled and not used. Never really forced to use anyone, people might not be available some days but that's it.

It isn't automatic, anyway I won't spoil it, you need to unlock more floor in Tartarus to unlock this feature.

yes ,if you have DLC, I suggest you only use the protagonist so that you can level up faster.
