I use Armageddon :)
If you don't want to use that, you need at least level 70. My party is Akihiko (buff & debuff), Aigis (buff, remove buff and deal decent damage) and Yukari (main healer). They also have Diarahan. You can equip them any equipment has light/dark evasion to increase change of insta-kill.
You should using Persona has no weekness. Or null light/dark to increase survival chance.

I beat the reaper with characters in the mid 70s on hard with Ken, Junpei, and Mitsuru. Equip your team with gear that gives either resistance or immunity to status ailments. My protag is on team buff and debuff duty. Ken gives the team magic reflect and heal. Also Ken 2nd theurgy is just pretty much the best theurgy in the game. Junpei crits the reaper so the team can theurgy bomb the reaper while he's down. Mitsuru was just there to use magic reflect consumables on the team. Pretty much magic and physical reflects are stupid strong and the reaper's AI isn't smart enough to get around it.

I beat it just before the final boss, at level 85, and that ended up bringing me to level 93, so yeah it was a perfect battle. I didn’t use Armageddon, I just used concentrate and made sure I buffed all my team and revive anyone when they needed, maybe it took around 8 minutes and had to revive my teammates 4x but it turned out great if you have major support skills for MC or good items

I beat it at 75 ish. I had crazy physical boosters and juts kept crit hitting him. Or I'd use a magic persona with a amp and boost skill to whatever there affinity was

Late-game Koromaru, Ken, and Yukari trivialize the encounter, as Koromaru should have Debilitate in the late 70s and Ken should have Heat Riser in that same range, plus both resist half of the instant-kill spell collection; Yukari is simply there to ensure you and your party stay standing, but can also inflict considerable damage by then with the right equipment. By that point you also will reasonably have some personas with no weaknesses, perhaps even having null/drain/repel light and dark to make you impervious to instant death spells, and if you have access to Spell Master and/or Arms Master then you will be hitting hard and often. You could even fulfill a support role and simply cast buffs on the rest of your party, acting as their Heat Riser instead so that they can whittle the Reaper down.

It's not a gimmick boss. It doesn't have any real tricks up its sleeves. The Reaper just has a large health pool and access to Megidoloan. Cast Dekaja to nullify Heat Riser when it casts it on itself; debuff it via Debilitate whenever the opportunity arises, prioritize party healing when needed, and keep your own party buffed. If you are still getting wiped out then try grinding out a few more levels before attempting to challenge it again.

As others have said, Reaper can be one shot with Armageddon. You can easily farm up your theurgy, wait for him to appear, then one shot him with it.

If you have Victory Cry, farming him is very easy.

as people have said above the ai in this game is really dumb and doesnt account for gear that provides null or evasion to weaknesses so if you get the null element crafts you can just put those on and the reaper will waste many of its turns trying to hit weak points on teammates and then all you have to worry about at that point is not dieing to mudoon/hamaon and megidolaon

None of these people are playing on Hard/Critical to "one shot" without armageddon ~ for future readers.

I beat that mf with ken in my party.(rest are aigis&yukari) That divine intervention is just sweet ♥♥♥ off reaper. mf ate his spell 4 times consecutively, it's freakin hilarious.

Many guys apparantly trying to flex killing the reaper by using the Hardway without Armageddon is kinda funny to me :satisfied:
