Damage calculation help
so afaik the basics of damage calculation is sqrt (power x stat) x mods

but something isn't adding up in game.

mitsuru's first theurgy according to https://aqiu384.github.io/megaten-fusion-tool/p3r/skills should do sqrt of 180 power while akihiko's second theurgy should do sqrt of 200.

in game, my akihiko has elec boost and amp, my mitsuru has ice boost, amp, and magic ability.

my mitsuru has 90 magic while my akihiko has 68 magic.

doing the calculation, mitsuru's should be doing more damage (without concentrate).

mitsuru: sqrt(180 times 90) = 127.28 x 1.25 (magic ability) x 1.25 (ice boost) x 1.5 (ice amp) x 1.4 (attack up) = 417.64

akihiko: sqrt(200 times 68) = 116.62 x 1.25 (elec boost) x 1.5 (elec amp) x 1.82 (buff amp) = 397.96

however, in game akihiko's theurgy is consistently doing more damage than mitsuru's. they are both buffed and i'm testing against the exact same enemies.

can someone explain this? am i doing something wrong? i seriously can't figure out how akihiko is doing more damage here unless one of the numbers on the website is wrong. i know his buff amp is 1.82x.

compare mitsuru's strength and akihiko's strength too, much better comparison if both mitsuru and akihiko having 99 st and 99 ma, theurgy damage also based on st and ma regardless of their attack type

There's a minor bug with Akihiko's Buff Amp that makes his damage scale higher than intended apparently, so that's probably why.

i had no idea it was based on both str and magic. thanks!

Also, there is the fact that damage calculation is kinda funky, if it is the same as P3P at the very least.

In a mod that I saw days ago, there is a plausible information about the calculation. The power of a move does affect damage, but not so much in the late game. And as the dude above already said, it also scales with strength too, which is odd but still.
