The movies themselves are pretty good, primarily because the main protagonist is a fully developed character, and a pretty good one at that. it contributed heavily as to why the P3 MC is considered by most, their fav and overall best written one. The movies themsleves do a few things better than the games, so much so that Reload took a lot of inspiration from them. They're not perfect however, some of the animation and cgi can be a bit poor, and the pacing can be a bit all over the place. But overall, they're def worth watching if you really enjoyed the story of p3, since it's more narrative driven and did a lot to build the characters.
Thank you for that. I felt a bit silly cause I kept thinking maybe they never did an anime but I wouldnt have guessed they'd be classed as 'movies' hence why I could never find them alongside Persona 4/5 anime. I never played the original P3 or FES cause that was kind of before I got into anime. 2006, I got fully into anime around late 2008. Yeah Iv started watching it, only first 20mins just to get a feel for it and compare.
I mean they ought to re-release it and pass it through a dub. TBH P3-R has got a decent dub.
P4Golden animation and P5 animation, since the latter 2 are from a different studio.
Unfortunately, you can't really watch the original P4 animation legally via streaming services like Crunchyroll.
Speaking of, the first and fourth P3 movies are great.
New scenes that weren't originally in the game are great additions, and changes to dialogues makes sense.
Its very rare you get fan-dubs unless its something comedic like DBZ-Abridged. I know Trails in the Sky FC has got a fan-dub but a project like that is massive because of the amount of dialogue in those games lol
4's anime. Lower budget, but probably the best one in terms of getting both the main story and some social link events in. As well as having its own original ideas and humor. You say its washed out, but thats actually accurate to the PS2 original look, Golden made everything brighter. The first few episodes feel more rushed, but once they get to Kanji is when the show really gets to be its own thing and the pacing gets much better.
4 Golden. Yes, its a different show. And it only focuses on the new Golden content additions from the game. Never got dubbed. Some fun humor, but an overall big downgrade from 4.
5 Daybreakers. Almost like a pilot for a show. Animated well, and based on a short Mementos sidequest from the game.
5 anime. We don't talk about the 5 anime. Ugly, muted, wishes it looked like Daybreakers. Incredibly rushed.
2 anime. Cancelled. And there is some trailer footage of it. Looked really good, but Atlus doesn't remember P1 and P2 exist.
the tank battle in the anime was so good I wish it was anything near that as in the game as well.
