Is hard mode hard enough?

I am currently playing my first run using merciless mode. this makes the game a total cakewalk. I am planning to play NG+ with hard mode, will it be harder or actually easier than merciless mode?

if you start NG+ with hard it will be baby mode, you will carry over your MC's level which mean you will start NG+ as level 99
if you wanna another challenge you should start Merciless again on your NG+, only "Blue Envelope" will transfer though

Wait. Isn't Merciless the hardest diff ? Why would anyone that's finding it easy drop to Hard?

It's actually the easiest mode, because once you hit enemies with weaknesses, the battles are pretty much a cakewalk as they tripled the damages.
