Vanillaware Titles
Not sure where to put this really but it would be fantastic to get Vanillaware titles on Steam like 13 Sentinels and the new Unicorn Overload (though that's coming to XBox so mayyybe?).

I hope they will be on Steam

There's already a thread about this, just scroll down a little before flooding the forum.

Anyway, the TL:DR is Atlus/SEGA wanted these games on PC and offered to port them at no extra cost, but Vanillaware is being stubborn for an unknown reason (probably just boomer mentality). More details in this post:

Are they a Atlus subsidiary or does Atlus just work with them? Remember, Atlus game's didn't reliably come to PC until Atlus's 5 years of autonomy post Sega buyout was up and Sega could force them to port to PC.

I adore Vanillaware games but I'm sick of skipping around consoles I don't otherwise use to get my hands on them. Unicorn Overlord would have sold like hotcakes on PC, but whether out of ignorance or arrogance they've once again decided to forgo us completely. I'm over it.

Like the guy above me said it's Vanillaware that doesnt want games on PC. Atlus would port them but they have some agreement that's preventing it from happening.

Atlus is only the publisher of some of their titles, so something like Muramasa wouldn't come to PC (or anywhere else) without Marvelous. GrimGrimoire was NIS(A) published originally and that's who published the remaster also.

I don't want to buy a console only to play to some titles.. and I don't want emulate. There are many titles on Steam, also titles that nobody would have dreamed on PC, I think it is stubborness and I hope Atlus can do something. Maybe in the future they will be ported too

Vanillaware just works closely with Atlus (Mostly) but not always Kumatanchi for example is published by NIS in Japan, basically Vanillaware is like From Software but has not publishing capacity in anyway shape or form also private company

HO boy.... you need to ask NIS/NISA for that not Atlus especially if you want the remake

Vanillaware doesn’t like to release games on PC. It’s their own opinion. It might change one day but for now I don’t see it happen. I’d love to have it on Steam Deck but sadly I’ll have to stick with Switch where possible but some aren’t even on Switch :(

Unicorn Overload will be released next year on PC. I have no evidence, but I also have no doubts.

GGOM didn't come to PC, so I wouldn't hold out hope for Odin Sphear. That being said, I hope that UO comes to PC in year or so. With Aegis, they used the concert streams to announce the NSW port and I'm hoping that if they do something similar, they'll use that to announce a potential PC port. Even if it was something like Aegis rim to stat with or something to test the waters. I'll take it because I want to buy VW titles as they look really nice and from mutuals I've spoken to, they are very fun.

“As a publisher, we would like to deliver it to PC users as well, but per our agreement with Vanillaware, we are only releasing it on consoles. In other words, there are no plans to port it to PC currently.”

That’s Vanillaware for you. Maybe it will change it someday but not yet. If you can get the games elsewhere then do that as it’s hard to predict if they will ever come to PC.
