Strongest Persona Protagonist?
Just wanted to know what people think since some people are playing Persona 3 for the first time, I think it's Makoto for obvious reasons but i haven't played Persona 2 so Maya or Tatsuya might be Jesus but i wouldn't know.

Makoto is the only one with Universe arcana and dude is summoning two personas at once now with Theurgy.

Strongest party members would be in 1 and 2 though since they could change Personas albeit limited to certain arcanas if I recall.

Then again you could argue the OG Persona users were built different since they were manifesting it in the real world and using it outside of battle to enchance their ♥♥♥♥.

Persona 3 is the only modern Persona cast that can summon in the real world too, we see this with Chidori, Yukari tries to summon her Persona outside of the dark hour in the intro of Persona 3, and i think its mentioned that the P3 cast can summon in the real world with their Evokers in P4 Arena

tatsuya can stop time and has gone through way more than any other protag, also he can summon personas in the real world just fine. the p1 protag and maya can also use personas in the real world (they're not restricted like the modern protags) and do have real guns as well. imo it would probably be tatsuya > makoto > tie between p1 protag and maya > then everyone else. the strongest team would probably be a tie between the p1 crew due to how many there are and they all have guns and the eternal punishment crew due to adults just being stronger than teens.
Obviously, it's Chad Narukami. Most powerful of them all. Creates a harem, even unintentionally. Beats actual gods. Lives to tell the tale. Isn't a door.

To be fair the "Gods" in Persona 4 and 5 aren't really gods they're just power amped shadows made from the collective conscious of everyone. Makoto had to fight the physical personification of death itself and "Won" and isn't Makoto technically the chad? bro literally can't talk to any woman in Persona 3 without them instantly falling in love and becoming his girlfriend

Uhhh, I hate to tell you, but the P3 protag did the harem thing first. Plus, Izanami no Okami is only a fraction of the original goddess. The 4 major shadow bosses in P4 are just parts of the same goddess and you never really fight the 4 of them combined.

There seems to be a common limit to how powerful the protagonists can be without their powers being boosted by an outside source such as their Links, or being boosted by the Masses. Makoto, Yū, and Ren are all similar in how much power they can output on their own, so none can really be said to be the most powerful unless you put some other metric in play.

For example, it's likely Ren is the toughest given he's had to execute a plan under the use of torture and heavy drugging. Considering Mementos requests and Palace targets, Ren's also made the most difference and attained the highest notoriety. While he was boosted, he still destroyed the divine antagonist instead of sealing or driving them off. So Ren is the most accomplished of the protagonists by the end of his story. ... But is that the same as being Strongest?

What about the opponents that each protagonist had to overcome? Elizabeth & Nyx Avatar are much more potent than Lavenza & Yaldabaoth, so perhaps that's a way to indicate that Makoto is stronger. However, if we used Attendants as the metric, then that would suggest that Yū is the mightiest given that Margaret is supposed to be the best of the Attendants. Lots of different ways to look at this.

Good argument, I personally think Makoto is the strongest, well he was at least up against the most impossible odds (Having to overcome Nyx, who is a literal space alien that cannot die and is implied to be a personification of the concept of death, fitting the games themes) And i'm talking about the protagonist at their best, maxed social links, ultimate Persona etc, Plus Makoto is pretty is pretty unique in the fact he has the Universe Arcana which granted him temporary immortality and he can summon multiple Personas at the same as shown with Fusion Spells, just my own opinion though they're all great in their own ways

I heard you needed multiple people to use Fusion spells in P2 and other SMT games, i guess Makoto is just strong enough to use fusion spells on his own
