Soul Hackers 2 was absurdly easy because you could save after every encounter if you wanted to. The games not overly difficult, you can save every 5 floors or so in Tartarus and before nearly every guardian/boss fight. You shouldn't be losing 5 hours of progress under any circumstance.

Edit: I was meaning to respond to ValentB, not sure why I couldn't quote his response. I'll paste it below to prevent confusion.
>The game needs save anywhere. In dungeons and boss fight dungeons like Soul Hackers 2. They brought lots of QoL features from recent games so why not this too?

I wouldn't mind a system that auto-saved at the start of every day and every time you entered the lobby of Tartarus.

Saving everywhere is a big no though. So much of an intended games difficulty goes out the window. This is why these days I just ignore quick saving and loading (or disable it if I can).

I noticed something. The two people who mention crashing a lot are both non steam version users. I'm assuming its the game pass version and it is most likely a user issue considering the lack of complaints for crashes.

I'm playing it on Gamepass and there's zero crashes for me in my 80+ hours playthrough.

Have a friend that is crashing on several games but it all just took a fresh reset on his PC and it disappeared entirely. Seems like a soft/hardware issue honestly.

the classic solution to almost everything, have you tried turning it off and on again?

Its what I figured. The only issue performance wise that I have with the game is the fact that they didn't say Reflections = Raytracing.

game is very generous with its saves as is. auto save would be silly. game already lets you retry fights and the stakes of losing are basically already none. been playing for over 100 hours and haven't crashed once on either my old and weak desktop or my steam deck. game runs great.

The game is holding your ♥♥♥♥ for you when you wanna pee.
Not any difficulty, not even in merciless.
Dying to a boss ? just restart it instantly !

Plus the game makes you do choices every time,
some that you can regret,
so you really don't want an autosaver to keep your fails.

that's just my opinion

looks like a you problem, I finished it with almost 100 hours and no crashes, in fact it ran like a dream, no issues whatsoever aside from unreal's shader comp stutters.
It’s definitely on his end. I’m at about 30 hours and no issues at all. Also with other much more intensive games (Cyberpunk and BG3) I’ve put in 30 hours and 97 hours both with 1 crash each

It could be worse. The original game had a grand total of two save spots. Inside the dorm, which if you left and came back into lost you that night exploration. and at the entrance to tartarus. much more likely to get killed by insta-death spells too, or the AI controled party members using Marin Kharin instead of healing you.

162h only 2 crashes.
20 Hours 60 crashes.

I think if you have more crashes than hours played, your pc should not be running it.

What kind of potato are you trying to run it on?! I've got a 1080 and i7 4790K and I can run the game on max settings with no issues. It's not the game man. Clean your pc (like physically clean the interior of your case). Defrag your drives. Run disk clean-up. Update your drivers. Update your windows. Restart your computer. Try to reinstall the game.
