For me it's the Fortune Arcana S. Link.

Boohoo I can't decide what I want but when I get it I don't want it because my father supports me now... Waaaaah. Cry me a freaking river.

I liked Hiraga's SL. Guess it kinda depends on how one views it? Fortune Arcana represents all manner of circumstances and benefits that the person receives beyond their control, whether good or bad. His main complaint is that he feels his life is chosen for him, that's why he -at first- rejected his dream to become a doctor. Simply because it's given to him on a silver platter. (Yeah, I know, later changes his mind, and strives to become a doctor again regardless of his opportunities, etc etc.). He misinterpreted other people's guidance for forcing their beliefs onto him.

I never cared for many of the Social Links in Persona 3, though for every bad one there seemed to be a good one. Nozomi is crude, annoying, and cowardly for the majority of time spent in his company, and this makes him a distasteful association as a consequence of his lacking character. Distasteful and unlikely, as I cannot think of a single reason for why I would make a friend out of him; Mamoru treats me to a meal several times too and is not half so painful to endure, and he presents as a friend I could take pride in having - he even gives me a vehicle, which I daresay goes well beyond the social norms for giving and receiving gifts.

I think I'll agree to Nozomi being the worst offender, as all of the other links have some aspect or quality that makes them more acceptable as an associate, whereas he does not seem to have any and is uniquely self-interested.

From a gameplay perspective I can see completing the link to get the boost to persona fusion and the ultimate one at the end. From a role playing perspective I cannot understand how anyone would want to actually see this thing through to the end. All other links you want to see what happens next, what motivates them, watch as they grow, but not this guy. This link is a mess and I just cannot figure out why the MC would actually want to spend time with him.

I would love to see an argument in support of this character by someone who actually likes him so I can get a different angle of opinion to think on.

I think the perspective of the Gourmet King's story is about clearing up his misconceptions about his life after being compared to his brother, but failing to do so on his own, and the cult is a means to an end that went too far. Rank 8 reveals and explains how he thinks in extremes (if his cult* is not taken seriously, it must mean he's hated) and he snaps out of it in 9 and 10, realizing he's been a fraud but also that these comparisons don't matter and he should be himself.

I think the protagonist hangs out with someone like him because he's genuinely a kind soul that understands how important friendships are, but that's the picture Rank 9 painted around him. He has already accepted Suemitsu for who he is and is waiting for the both of them to reach the same conclusion.

I don't really hate any of the characters in the series, there's conscious intent with all of them especially when they're repulsive for one reason or another. The Gourmet King isn't close to my favorite SL but wanted to share my interpretation on what the story is about.

I am beginning to think that the Gourmet King is actually one of the better characters just because of the fact he can generate so much discussion from both sides of the table.

I’m pretty surprised that I wasn’t the only one who kinda sorta defended Nozomi. Thought I’d be the only person lol.

Persona fans hate Nozomi because looking at his portrait reminds them of themselves

Not in the least. I'm old enough to be called "Granny", I have a family, had a work, now I'm retired and playing all that I couldn't while working... Can't relate with him at all.

Yeah, voice acting for every social link was great but in the case of Nozomi it made me hate him SO MUCH MORE i didn't think it was possible, this guy is for the worst social link in the franchise hands down.

I too hate the Gourmet King as a character. Going through his S. Link is the worst part of P3 for me.

But I *get* his S. Link.

The way I see it, P3's S. Links tie very heavily into their Arcana, at least moreso than P4 (I haven't played P5 yet). And the Moon Arcana is all about fears and delusions. The Gourmet King fits this, having fallen to his own fears and losing himself to the delusion of the paradise offered.

The end of the S. Link isn't just about whether he can change, but about the MC understanding him. As P3 is more the MC's story than the group's story, I think this fits.

I actually really like the Devil S. Link for this reason. Yes, he's an unrepent awful person. But through this S. Link, you can see *how* he became such. It isn't my favorite S. Link, but it has value beyond "This man is terrible."

Overall, the worst S. Links in P3 are def worse than those from other games, but the best are better as well. P3's S. Links just seem more memorable to me, both the good and the bad, overall.

Of course, all of this is my opinion.
