Boohoo I can't decide what I want but when I get it I don't want it because my father supports me now... Waaaaah. Cry me a freaking river.
I think I'll agree to Nozomi being the worst offender, as all of the other links have some aspect or quality that makes them more acceptable as an associate, whereas he does not seem to have any and is uniquely self-interested.
I am beginning to think that the Gourmet King is actually one of the better characters just because of the fact he can generate so much discussion from both sides of the table.
But I *get* his S. Link.
The way I see it, P3's S. Links tie very heavily into their Arcana, at least moreso than P4 (I haven't played P5 yet). And the Moon Arcana is all about fears and delusions. The Gourmet King fits this, having fallen to his own fears and losing himself to the delusion of the paradise offered.
The end of the S. Link isn't just about whether he can change, but about the MC understanding him. As P3 is more the MC's story than the group's story, I think this fits.
I actually really like the Devil S. Link for this reason. Yes, he's an unrepent awful person. But through this S. Link, you can see *how* he became such. It isn't my favorite S. Link, but it has value beyond "This man is terrible."
Overall, the worst S. Links in P3 are def worse than those from other games, but the best are better as well. P3's S. Links just seem more memorable to me, both the good and the bad, overall.
Of course, all of this is my opinion.
