Denuvo = instant no buy.
Just posting to let the devs know that I won't be buying this, not because I don't want it, I love Persona 3 from back in the day. In fact I love Atlus games in general and prefer to support you by buying the games you release even when pirated copies are available.

I have just had really bad experiences with Denuvo causing performance issues to the point I where i had to pirate games I already own just to get a Denuvo free version that ran twice as fast and crashed half as often. It really is a system hog that causes more problems than it solves.

I will however add this to my wish list, if I see you remove Denuvo I will buy, if you don't I am sure the pirates will get to it eventually.

And the devs do NOT care. Also I hate to break it to you None of the Persona games that were released to PC had Denuvo cracked because the one person who did it Empress didn't like games like Persona and they are long retired. Also none of the Persona games released to PC had deunvo removed either. The only game that was kind of cracked was Persona 4 Golden because Atlus forgot to enable Denuvo. But that workaround is now useless since they switched Persona 4 Golden to 64 bit from 32bit.

Well if what you claim is true and the devs don't care, then why give them money at all? If I sold you a car and then installed a black box that made your car run like ♥♥♥♥ so I could track you and make sure it's really you driving it, would you buy that car from me just because it was a car you liked?

If the devs don't remove it and the pirates don't crack I guess I just won't play it. Plenty of other games out there anymore. Supporting the use of Denuvo by buying this is basically telling devs, "Hey it's cool for you to sell me an inferior version that is bogged down by DRM, I am a floormat you can walk on, and still expect to get my money."

I only made this post in case the devs DO actually care and happen to see it. Odds are they might not see it even IF they do care, but if no one posts just because they might not care, how will they ever even know?

I am sure the game will be good, it's a remaster of P3 after all. Such a shame I won't be able to enjoy it.

It's a DRM which is basically just a copy protection however Denuvo is infamous for causing performance issues in some games. P3R runs well on even weaker hardware, but games like Resident Evil 8 had huge performance issues at launch because of it, which the pirated version didn't have. However, since Denuvo is VERY hard to get around, and there isn't anyone active that can crack it anymore, there aren't pirated copies of games which don't have it. SEGA and by extension Atlus don't remove it like other devs, so some people who need the extra performance by not having Denuvo might have a laggy game.

Denuvo is one thing, paying $70 for an offline game is another ;)

I'm sure the 1,000,000 sales they've already made during the first week alone will really take your post seriously xD

Sigh* did you not even read my posts above? I clearly stated I have no idea if the devs will care at all, only posting it in case they do. Why are you even posting here if all your going to do is naysay and be an ass? Just ignore it if my post is so unimportant?

Thank you for explaining this so eloquently, I appreciate it. It's a real shame so many of the legends that COULD crack Denuvo have retired as well. (looking at you 3DM) They shall be missed by many. For anyone wondering, there are any number of impartial comparisons of games with Denuvo vs without on Youtube. It's pretty plain that it causes massive lag, severe framerate drops, CTD's and an assortment of other problems. Denuvo denies this of course, but the evidence is pretty clear.
Luna Feb 22, 2024 @ 5:20pm
The only lag I've experienced in the game is due to reflections, which can be turned off, so if you're worried about performance, I wouldn't stress too much.

If you like the game, buy it. If you don't want to for Denuvo, that's fine, but you're not going to find a lot of people supporting that on these threads. Especially since there have been /many/ threads like this already when the game launched.

You do you in the end, but if you love the game, I'd say go for it o/ Or buy it on another system. Doesn't have to be PC <:

Awesome thread. Have you seen all the other ones about the same thing?

why so cheap? The game is easily 60 hours to possible 100 hours if try for everything and that one playthrough.
If game makers charged like the rest of the world based on how much work and craftsmanship goes into it, they would be worth 100s of dollars.
