stutters during combat turns
Is any one else having this problem? I have a pretty beefy computer compared to most and can run most games just fine. However when I take my turn and attack there is a very slight micro stutter and it is just really irritating. It goes by quickly but it is still noticeable every time and seeing is how turn based combat is a big part of the game.

Is there any fix any one has been able to do?

Specs:
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon 6800XT
CPU: 12th Gen i5-12400F
Ram: 32 Gigs

I did notice it when I played yesterday. There are other occassions when it happens as well (like some enemy attacks that have some effects) or during running through tartarus..

Before yesterday I didn't play for a couple of days and before this, there were NO stutters at all. Game ran smoothly at pretty much constant 120fps for me and I played for roughly 50h before that. I don't think there was a game update recently but I remember I updated my gpu driver (AMD as well) and I've read some people have issues with that latest version, soo maybe it's related to this?

Oh no, I meant it happens on the latest update (for myself anyway), but yeah let me know!

Maybe the latest AMD drivers update deleted your shaders? If that's the case you just need to keep playing and it'll become smooth again in a bit. With games like Lies of P idk why they don't let us precompile the shaders before playing honestly

Since I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to those things, your explanation actually makes sense, so I'll try that. I haven't noticed the issue/stuttering for other games in the mean time but tbh I've been playing stuff like Balatro or Dark Forces Remaster mainly - games that obviously aren't very gpu-hungry.

Anyway, thank you for the advice! (:

I have a very similair setup to yours (only gpu is a newer gen AMD) and I had no slowdown issues at all. On the topic of drivers AMD's newest drivers have given lots of people issues all over the place, so it's not weird to imagine P3R is also hit by hit. If changing your in-game settings doesn't help, reverting drivers to the latest 2023 one could potentially help

I haven't noticed any stuttering except sometimes when walking around after-school in the hallways.

That is shader compilation stutter and will happen to you every time a new effect is showing on screen.
The problem is when you update your graphics card it will be restarted, so those effects that didn't stutter will stutter once more.
Devs must address it, really. Otherwise the port is excellent imo

Just out of curiosity: I don't remember that happening when I first played the game. It's only now happening. Shouldn't have it happened when I first started the game as well?

It 100% happened, maybe you just didn't notice at the time and now after playing smoothly for a while getting these stutters are more evident.

I hope if they are taking more than a month to release a patch is because they are on it seriously.

I wouldn't expect much from ATLUS, they aren't known for releasing patches to fix performance issues or the like unless it's something big, and shader compilation stutter sadly isn't.
